The collosal squid model needs some fixing. Check the shading (flat/smooth) or remove all doubles... (Or the render is just bad, butI don't think so :P )

Oh, and I think you should care more about the quality of the images you're photoscourcing... Most of your skins look really blurry :(

I think I wrote an article about finding good refs: http://thezt2roundtable.com/single/?p=8722001&t=11476998

I was hoping to avoid it but the squid will need a complete rework
Yeah the squid has some issues that I hope to fix, the main problem is my inexperience with uvs, but I think i have figured out how to do it better.
The blurry skin thing is an issue I have a lot of trouble with, but the renders are not the best so in actuality most look better. I will do some more work on each after I kind of have all the animals and other stuff worked out, the project is still pretty early. The Campbell Teal is probably the blurriest. I will try some in-game pictures

Is the krill coded as scenery, an ambient, or a full animal?

First off; I love this project. Excellent idea :D Though I do agree with Yukon as regards some of your references.
Also, what are the poly counts for the Krill and Silverfish? ATM I can't discern whether they use 3D parts or alphas for fins and legs etc., and since they are both tiny, schooling animals I would say that they really need as low a poly count as possible in order to function properly.

They both use alphas, a krill without alphas would be way to many vertices for something so small, since the Polar Ice biome animals are essentially done I will try to get the remainder of the polar ice environment so I can do some in game pics and video.
Any suggestions for polar ice "plants" (all the inverts found below the ice)
I know for sure I want Odontaster validus and Sterechinus neumayeri but it would be nice to have more variety, also how do you make plants compatible with thoms tank floors

He explains it Here, although I hae to say it doesn't seem to work every time, at least for me.

As for suggestions, Genoa's aquarium has a nice Antartica section, and these are the species they have/had:

Urticinopsis antartica
Odontoaster validus
Pseudotrematomus bernachii
Homalocidaris gigantea
Staurocucumis sp.
Histiodraco velifer
Astrotoma agassizii
Adamussium colbeki
Chionodraco hamatus

as for Antarctic plants, antarctic hair grass, any of the moss species in Antarctica or the Antarctic pearl wort(already made) . also kelugan cabbages as well as tussuc grass. also any of the antarctic sponges or some seaweed and kelp is also a good idea.

also as for mammals, have you considered a beaked whale?

I have considered Beaked Whales, but right now the only other mammal planned is Commerson's Dolphin (it is found in Antarctic Waters and is found in Captivity)
Their are 3 Antarctic Beaked Whales Grey's, Southern Bottlenose (my first choice), and Southern Giant (already made for zt2) I also initially wanted a Leopard Seal but due to its destinct shape I would need a new model to do it.
I also what to ask your opinions about the Blue Whale Model/display am doing for the pack Should it be Hanging or on the Ground supported by columns (the pros for the ground is it could be used outside, for smaller Aquariums, while the hanging Whale would be only used in the high ceilings of Museums and Main Aquarium Halls, But the Hanging model would allow for you to put entrance stuff and exhibits below it.
I also may cut the Diorama, for some reason the Seal is white ingame, may be blinking has to be removed.

The smaller burg is quite a bit bigger than the largest one AD made for polar Ice and the big one, probably one of the largest things ever made in zt2 is about a quarter the size of a small zoo (probably recommend you use it for a cliff in an Arctic exhibit)
