As some of you have probably seen by now, I am determined to become a Zoo Keeper once I go through college and graduate. I want to work with Mammals, no specific kind of mammal but if I had to choose I'd choose to work with carnivores or primates.
I don't really have a plan for what zoo I'd like to work at when the time comes around, I guess I'd probably move around a few zoos before settling. But at the college I plan to go to (Steven's Point University) allows you to intern at zoos, I know zoos they will let you intern at for sure is the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison, Wisconsin, and the NEW Zoo in Green Bay, Wisconsin. (I wonder what state I live in xD )

Now that you know about me, tell us about what you guys want to do if you want to be part of animal related careers! (Which I'm sure many of you do if your here! ^_^ )

I don't have any interest in becoming a zookeeper, I'll leave the dirty work for someone else xD

However, I'm studying languages, probably with a follow-up in marketing. Should I ever come across a zoo that needs a spokesperson or social-media admin, then I'll definitely apply for those positions.

No interest in becoming a zookeeper either. :P

I'm taking the "Bachelor of Arts in Interactive Games Studies ", in other words, game design so I can eventually start up an indie game development team with my friend, and a degree in 2d/3d animation. I also have a certificate in web development and am currently trying to get a certificate in graphic design.

So basically, here's a list of my "life goals":

• Game Development
• Web Development
• Graphic Artist
• 2D/3D Animator
• Musician/Producer (just for fun; using synthesized music in FL Studio)

It's okay, anyone can talk about that else they'd like to do, it's interesting to hear about. :)

I was on the biological track for a while. I was looking at studying animal behavior, ecology, zoology. As I went down that track I found that while I would love to work with animals directly, I wasn't as interested in the conservation and research projects that went along with it.

I have since moved over to Landscape Architecture. I'll be transferring into a 4-1 program where I'll graduate with my masters in L Arch and have a minor in Ecology. I've heard my career goals called a few different things, but basically I want to do Habitat/Ecosystem recreation and Masterplanning for Zoos, Reserves, and the various entertainment parks (wildlife, amusement, water, etc.)

I'm in my second year of studying to be a research psychologist :P But I do plan on volunteering/working part-time until I get further along in my field.

I was actually invited to apply for a part-time job at the museum I volunteer at to teach an after-school program about freshwater ecosystems, and I'm also looking at a job at my local zoo to be a guest relations worker. I honestly really enjoy this side of zoo and museum work, if I weren't already at the point where I have to commit to a major I'd probably opt to study this.
