While I agree with you that the USA has a bit of a power issue when it comes to the rest of the world and they should absolutely cool it a little with the global involvement since it often does more bad than good in the long run, I think it is a tad naïve to assume that Putin's ambitions end on the borders of the former USSR. He clearly has a vested interest in attempting to balance the power of the US in the middle east.
However, even if what you were saying were true and all Putin is trying to do is restore the USSR, that still puts him pretty high on the WWIII catalyst ranking if you ask me, since that would still entail the invasion and (partial) annexation of several sovereign states, something which, for all his flaws, I don't see The Donald doing anytime soon. Trump will absolutely make matters worse for everyone involved, but if WWIII happens, I doubt he'll be it's Hitler.

I didn't say puting is restoring the USSR, but what I say is that Putin doesn't start conflicts on other sides of the world because he thinks he can run the whole world. If Putin wants control on any part of the world it is the old USSR. He doesn't care which dictator is running in the Middle East, because he has barely anything to seek there, while the USA always has the need to "bring democracy" (or lets say make sure they have friends running the country to keep their oil safe).

And @stargatedalek; why is Putin the "new" Hitler? I believe Trump calls Mexican people rapists and Muslims terrorists. The only thing they have in common is that Putin wants to expand his country, but he doesn't want a new "Third Reich", while the USA are the ones seeking control of the globe and if necessary starts illegal wars for it.

I'm not slow! That's just my moe!

It was more about comparing the relationship between him and Trump to that of Hitler and Ford than anything.

The former USSR was created by invading countries, "reclaiming" it is an act of tyranny and war and represents unconscionable violations of UN and humanitarian policies.
