The workshop and no-need for a CD are definitely pluses, but is there a way to migrate your game into Steam? (aside from the "add non-Steam game to library" thing) If you've already purchased it and want to have the full advantages of the Workshop and such, I mean. Last time I checked, ZT2 doesn't have an activation key like The Sims and some other games. |

If they moved the game to Steam, they would probably charge us for it. |

Well of course but if you look at Wildlife Park, it's about the same as a copy of Ultimate Collection and the sales will help too. |

Also a lot of it comes down to rights and such. If Valve doesn't have the rights, they can't release it on Steam. |

That's really not how Steam works. Very few games on Steam Valve has any rights to (IP or otherwise). Steam is above all else a digital storefront for companies to sell games and software (you can even buy or rent movies and TV on it). Yes Steam takes a percentage of profits from each sale, but that's just their mark-up as the distributor. The reason we won't be seeing Zoo Tycoon 2 or probably any other game Microsoft is involved with on Steam is because Microsoft games has a lot of bad blood with Valve (and for that matter, you could say Microsoft games essentially has bad blood with PC [how ironic]). There are a few exceptions mind you, like Impossible Creatures, which was released on Steam under a new publisher. |

The good thing is the game will be updated for new systems. For wide screens and an update for the engine. @stargatedalek: Well some olf good games from MS are in steam like Rise of Nations and Age Empires/Mythologies |

...I really don't see how putting it into Steam would magically "update" it into widescreen and update the engine. Edited by Narukota, Dec 2 2016, 03:17 PM.

The one I bought is widescreen compatible. Nothing ridiculous mind you, but it fits 1920 x 1080. *edit* Found it: https://www.amazon.ca/Zoo-Tycoon-Ultimate-Collection-PC/dp/B00ALRYOYA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1480726169&sr=8-2&keywords=zoo+tycoon+2 Edited by stargatedalek, Dec 2 2016, 08:49 PM.

Well maybe new developers could update it with a new engine update and widescreen options. Maybe porting all models, skins, IA, UI, etc...into a new version. Similar to the new AOE 2HD and AOM remaster. Also more support than Blue Fang Games gave us. The final game had many bugs that wanst resolved by them. Edited by spartan_squat, Dec 2 2016, 10:40 PM.

ZT2 actually has numerically very few bugs, it's just that the bugs it has are very well-known to its playerbase and tend to be quite intrusive to gameplay. |

Most of all, bugs that are worsened by badly/incorrectly made custom content. And overall, the severity of the bugs are also quite exaggerated by the community to a great extent. But try telling the community that, disinformation spreads like viral diseases around here. ![]() |

I personally would love to see this game digitized; I know I got my version from a website that actually had the download up only because the version I wanted was impossible to find anywhere. (thank goodness for ISO). |
