So, just thought I'd pop this here to let everyone know I'm putting my free time these days into something productive.

My first project from scratch;

Projects List

Red = Incomplete
Blue = WIP

Well, I have only been working on it for a day and a half now. ;)

But are there any specifics? There isn't much Platyhystrix reference material, so I've had to use a lot of projections based on Cacops and similar related species.

Also, keep in mind this lil' fella will be quite small in-game. From what we've gathered, Adult Platyhystrix topped out at two feet long.

Not anatomical edit but on design of the model.

Maybe add more verts to define eye & feet.

It doesn't really need more verts, just place them more wisely. I really like the shape (the limbs are pretty much perfect tbh), just aim for a neater topology.

That's a nice-looking model! There was a Platyhystrix in the old Prehistoric Monsters pack, but we've been needing a new one for a while.

That's actually what inspired me to make this one! XD

That and I could easily re-purpose this model into Cacops, Seymouria, and similar species. >.>

Just finished adding the teeth, made a male model variation, as well as young and larval stages to go along for the ride.

Spoiler: click to toggle

I'm still working on the Juvenile stages for male and female currently. ;)

You save a lot of work if you make the other life stages only after one is in game. And 3d teeth are pretty much overkill here.

I'll keep that in mind for future reference. I'll simplify them before I put them into the engine. I'm kinda just polishing them for my own artist's portfolio, then I'm setting them up for use in-game. I'm graduating from my game design college this year, and modding for ZT2 will be good practice for my future.

No image to show this time, but to update you, the UV is now done, after I cleaned the mesh and now the normals have been baked. I have now begun work on its skins and variants, as well as binding a rig.
