Prehistoric Park Advice

So I'm thinking bout trying my hand at an extinct park, but after looking through my downloads I saw a lot of animals from the same areas and times. Keeping this in mind, I wanted to recreate these ancient environments, while also creating enclosures for the park. Since I'd never tried to create a time travel based prehistoric zoo in Zoo Tycoon, I decided to try it out.

I've basically created a few new animals I wanna incorporate but right now my largest problems are destinations and the park location. The park locations tricky as a polar, arid or tropical area would be far too limiting, and temperate themed parks become rather generic and not as exciting. Are there any areas that have climates a wide variety of animals could inhabit?

And onto a similar note, I've been considering destinations but it's tough. With an actual narrative aside from the park, I won't incorporate that many missions. Maybe listed and if it goes well continue. But basically what time/places would be good mission ideas? I'm including Eocene Europe thanks to the recent ambulocetus release from Zoo Tycoon Thailand and Miocene Africa, as Cenezoic Africa seems to not get a lot of attention in these types of builds. Any advice on both of these is greatly appreciated.

The best advice I have for picking a location is go nuts and choose somewhere that inspires you. Often the best ideas come from trying to work around problems. As for unique locations, both Early Cretaceous China and Pleistocene Australia are varied and interesting animal wise.
