So, I actually started working on this project years ago, but then that computer messed up. Suddenly, I had the urge to redownload Blender and try this again, even though I have no knowledge of creating meshes, texturing, or anything else that has to actually do with proper modding. I do want to try to finish this, however. I created the mesh from scratch, which is probably to my detriment seeing that I cannot actually get the mane to group with the main body without messing up the mirror modifier. >_> <_< I'm probably going to be asking for help a lot from here but I honestly wanted to see what you guys thought about what I've got so far.

Thanks, mate. I wish I could figure out what is wrong with my mesh that it freaks out every time that I try to group it with the mane. It either messes up the modifier or mirrors the mane as well.

Just apply the modifier before you group the meshes. But you should only do that in the end after you made your uv map qnd weight painting. Just leave a little blank space for the mane uv.

I had applied it before I tried grouping them, but I'll definitely do my mapping and such first. I've actually been using the Thylacine modding tutorial on Youtube and that's helped out immensely.


Edit: I am completely stupid. I forgot to hit apply and NOW I can get them to group properly after I centered the points of origin.

Hi, where could I ask assistance for my unicorn's rigging? I have the skeleton mostly working for it, with the original horse animations for the games, but I am having severe problems with things like grazing and other such things. Is there anyone I can ask for help from? I would obviously give credit.

Wonderful unicorn, blows the one I am making clean out of the water. I especially love the sabre-like horn shape, you rarely see that in unicorn pictures nowadays when they are all narwhal-horse hybrids.

If you need skinning help I'm available. I just got some new brushes for photoshop that adds roaning and dapples so I am re-doing my unicorn skins, so a few more won't matter.

Thanks, Tamara! I think I am going to be doing okay with the skinning (at least I hope), but it's the animations I'm having the trouble with. I fix one part and another part just messes up more.

You can try and rename ie. disable the Bip01 Neck1 node. That could make it look better.

It helped bit, but part of it is that when the neck is bent, for some reason, it squeezes in the shoulder bone into the body.
