Have you ever thought of when you have full of possibilities with just a single ZT2 game and you say: "Hey, maybe I should make a 5-star zoo without any expansion packs, bonus DLCs, or mods?"

Doing an all vanilla build would be a cool and fresh idea for a contest here

I've tried it. But once you've gotten used to playing with mods, it's very hard to go back to vanilla and play with its limitations, specifically playing with a grid.

I just remember that I spent 3 actual days to wait for the panda to mate when it is still a single ZT2 game

The giant Panda campaign, now that was hard work back in the day, at least 4 days of working on the zoo, just to get to 5 stars, then numerous decline clicks until the panda actually appeared on the adoption panel, then finding out you didn't have enough money to adopt one when it did appear and when you finally got one, the female you were given as part of the campaign, refused to get pregnant, even after multiple matings.

No good hero is a one-trick phony.

I made my fair share of really awesome five-star zoos before I even knew about modding. It's not too hard if you're experienced, but the biggest issue for me now would be the collision and the grid.

I AM THE UNSHRINKWRAPPER!

I love to go back and do this every so often. I find that eventually the mods clog up the game a bit, and making the zoo with just vanilla stuff just kinda adds a breath of fresh air to the game. Plus it runs a lot smoother, too.

We already did that in the past, in fact I considered uploading the zoo map I made for the contest but I think I lost it.

I have multiple ZT2 installations right now, including a vanilla version, and one with all Radical Remake content, with my main installation being one in the middle with a lot of now older mods.

Playing with the grid is easily the toughest part of going back. I've found everything else pretty easy.
