As the title says, what are some games you think SHOULD exist, but don't currently? This is implying that this is a game you would love to play should it come along, but you don't have the resources to create yourself for one reason or another, or a type of project you'd like to see done by a specific developer. Basically, post game ideas as they exist in your own head! This thread isn't intended to be a an argument about the market viability of these games necessarily, but rather an open discussion of all the cool ideas we have bouncing around in our head. Now I'm going to start with one that I think we've ALL thought of at one point or another, a spiritual successor to Zoo Tycoon. Lately, I've been playing a lot of Cities: Skylines, and that game has really got me thinking about what a modern Zoo Tycoon clone could look and play like. I'd like the idea of a modern game with mod-menus and a good launcher, perhaps mod tools of one sort or another. Zoo Tycoon 2 certainly allows us to create our own content, and it's not exactly prohibitively difficult (especially not anymore), but a more structured approach to mods would definitely make getting into the game even easier. Imagine for a second the ability to use Steam Workshop with Zoo Tycoon 2, or even better, a game with the kinds of modding options that Cities: Skylines or other modern Sim games offer, following the theme of a Zoo simulation? I don't know if we'll see one any time soon for certain, but the recent resurgence of Roller Coaster and city-building sims definitely has me thinking it COULD happen. |
