Oh! That's right, back when I first posted my intention to make such a pack she did PM me offering to be a skinner for the project. Unfortunately it was right at the time I went away, so I ended up turning her down. Wasn't aware she was actually doing an After Man pack too now I gotta check that later. |

Restraint? Don't know what that is! After Man pack- teaser ![]() General Information: Creator: Panrex Language: Bugs: None Extra Information: Credits: Roy Woodard for the illustration; Dougal Dixon for the book which this pack is based on. Description: A framed map of the future world as depicted in After Man - A Zoology of the Future. Bonus Features: Public Domain? Yes Permission to Reupload ? Yes Original Model? Yes Zoopedia? Yes ![]() (I need Sophie's sets to make better previews!) But seriously, this is just a little thing I thought of making on the spot. Since it was such a simplistic model and the coding was mostly there from my Zdenek Burian painting (which is also something I'll be remaking and expanding later on), I made it in just a few minutes. Speaking of which guys, if anyone wishes for a certain type of decoration like that (framed picture, map, poster, etc), feel free to ask. They're so easy to make that I'd be happy to do some for others who want a specific one! ![]() Okay, NOW I'll really be going away for a few days. Stay well folks! Modeling is still quite relaxing for me, so I got to do a little bit of it today Which means another teaser picture! It's still VERY early in development, but this is the secret project I mentioned, the main attraction of the finished After Man teaser pack: the Reedstilt Diorama:![]() It's inspired by the real-life After Man exposition that was hosted at the California Institute of Technology in 1987. There's sparse information on said exposition, but what is known is that at least some of the creatures (not sure if all) were animatronics built by none other than Dinamation. From the pictures I was able to gather, the creatures exhibited included the Nightstalker, the Desert Leaper, the Swimming Monkey, and of course, the Reedstilt: ![]() For ZT2, the idea is that even if players don't want to have the future animals because fictional animals aren't their thing, they can still create a sort of temporary exhibition of After Man. |

Cool! I love adding things like this into my zoos. Also, would you happen to have links to the original exhibit images? Edited by Arrancon, Jun 12 2017, 07:52 PM.

Pretty much all of them vanished from the internet, it seems. Only four of them are still around: two of the Desert Leaper in Gettyimages, one of the Nightstalker from a reddit user, and the Reedstilt one, from my own post in the ZTH. I've compiled all of my collection of pictures I was able to preserve along the years in this imgur album: After Man exposition at Caltech (1987) It also includes two scans of advertisements of the exposition. One of them says that it was actually a japanese company that produced the animatronics (no surprise, since the japanese are pretty enthusiastic about speculative evolution). I guess I remembered it wrong, but I'm sure I saw Dinamation being mentioned once. |

Possibly one of the most unique objects for the game I've seen in a while. As a huge fan of his work it's cool to see so much effort go into your work. |

Some more work on the Reedstilt so I can make that diorama. I configured the UV map and now I'll be making the texture. As a test I made a crude mockup with copy of the model with a plain UV plastered on the picture of the Reedstilt just so I could have more or less an idea of how it will look like when finished:![]() |

It's looking great already. Will you be using the model for the diorama only or do you have any plans of making it into a functional animal? |

My aim has always been doing them as functional animals, yes! I haven't looked into how it's done exactly, however. But I'm making the models in antecipation, and making the dioramas is a cool way to showcase them in-game until I get to make them properly.

A few hours later:![]() Now it's only a matter of looking for any mistakes in the UV and add details I might have missed, and it's done. After that I gotta do the props for the diorama, and then do the diorama itself, but that will be a task for another day; that's quite enough for me today, and I'm quite satisfied.

The Reedstilt diorama model & textures are finally completed! I just need to adjust a few things (not sure which background to use!) and send it to blender to creater a bfb, and then code it!![]() Also note: the transparency on the water isn't final. It will look better in-game. I'll just make two more simple objects and add the plant that's shown in this diorama, and the teaser pack will be good to go!
