A response to Stargatedalek was in this case very needed. I do not agree with her at all either. You are right, responding vicisously or attacking back is not necassary or needed. However this is the internet and things posted can be interpreted differently. As you said it was aimed at her. Ok but that's just opened up how you feel about people who just edit models. The approach I got was not the particular one I wanted and you seem to have taken the one where I'm perceived as rude, when from actual fact from what I read I perceive you as the rude one.. I felt attacked and my friends did too. My post wasn't really to make you feel bad but on how you made me and my friends feel uncomfortable and rather small. A machine? Categorised as a "Cheater" or "Hijacker". I hear people feel the same way about people who import things. If you look at your post from a different standing point you should see it too, there's probably other people that see it too but too afraid to say anything. Don't sit there and say oh "I'm just trying to make you look bad or make you the person in the wrong", well no... actually I felt uncomfortable and questioned it so I'm pretty sure they would be too. Read it from the different point of views, from someone like me. Most of you kids don't seem to do that. I can probably imagine your sitting there waiting for what I say. Yeah ok. Might be a misunderstanding, but one that I felt needed to be addressed. Netherless you have made your point, as I have made mine. Perhaps try wording things properly so silly little things like this don't happen hey mate. It's good to know you would like to encourage people... that's what was missing from the previous post. And granted I probably shouldn't of mention that I had heard stuff about you, I don't know you. On the plus side Lgcfm I had no idea the Hyena had alpha edits. Very poor example on my part, but there are plenty of other animals that could easily replace it as an example. Edited by TheWatcher, Jun 27 2017, 03:33 PM.

You do realize your earlier point is basically saying "we don't want to put hours into creating something we want so we can just make a few edits for a PU thing but 'old and experienced' designers should make all the nice new animals and they have to release them." Sounds a bit absurd if I may say so. |

Ah, the good old PD discussion. For those interested, there's one simple reason why the DutchDesigns downloads aren't PD. We simply didn't wanted people to make the same animals we wanted to do with the same models. For example, we made some spoonbills and cranes from the same base model, and, once the first was released, people could get the same idea as us. Mostly we did use people our stuff if they asked for it, though. (Oh, by the way, you guys are posting WAY too fast and your posts are WAY too long haha). |

No, I wasn't. What I'm saying is it's wrong to try and shame people for not wanting to put a lot of time into something that they don't want to put a lot of time into. |

Agreed. However, I don't think you have to expect a bunch of great comments of how well you did then. If that's not what you're going for there's no problem of course, but don't expect people to glorify you for little work. Edited by Gerben, Jun 27 2017, 04:05 PM.

I think what Anton is trying to say is that it is a choice wether you want to make content for your own zoos. I personally think that anyone would be albe to at least learn how to edit the skin of a simple object. I myself first believed that it'd be way too hard for me, but in the end it turned out to be really easy, and I'm glad I tried it out. So what I'm trying to say is that anyone could make their own pu content, however it's their choice wether they want to do that, and we should respect that from both sides, the ones who do create pu content and the ones who don't. |

I don't really care about PU all that much, but I just want to address this right here. I see where you're coming from in not wanting to go against the creator's will, but honestly if the creator has left the community odds are they probably don't care anymore about the game and could care less about it being used. If they have a problem with it, they can say so and it can be removed. But If Billybob made his Forest Elephant not PD three years and leaves, and you made a Palaeoloxodon out of of it, he PROBABLY won't care because he hasn't done anything in three years and if he really cares that much he can ask you to take it down. In the real world people make artwork and die all the time, only for it to be copied or used as a starting point for other works. No one yells at these people for "Disrespecting the creators". It's not a perfect analogy, but the idea is still the same. You'll probably be remembered more if your artwork is used as a base for something else than you are if you just have your artwork never used again and get lost to time. In other modding communities, this is common practice as well and oftentimes how super big mods stay alive. Garry's Mod comes to mind here as a great example of this.
