Well I guess I'll make the list to add it in spoilers because it's gonna be long.
Spoiler: click to toggle - ISOTOPIC PALAEOECOLOGY ( 13C) OF THE LATE PLEISTOCENE MEGAMAMMALS OF AMERICA (FLORIDA, MEXICO AND BRAZIL): FINDING THE KEY SPECIES IN THE STRUCTURATION OF THESE COMMUNITIES A study that argues that in areas were both ground sloths, proboscids and toxodontids, the former were the ones that had the bigger impact in the local ecology and may had limited the proliferation of other megafauna.
- CONSTRUCTING THE COLOSSUS: NEW TITANOSAUR MATERIAL FROM NEW MEXICO REVEALS NOVEL MECHANISMS FOR ACCOMMODATING GIGANTISM AND NECK ELEVATION Describing well preserved neck tendons in A. sanjuanensis, apparently the neck was kept 35º from a horizontal plane.
- A REMARKABLY WELL-PRESERVED ELASMOSAURID (SAUROPTERYGIA: PLESIOSAURIA) SPECIMEN FROM THE UPPER CRETACEOUS (CAMPANIAN) DINOSAUR PARK FORMATION OF SOUTHERN ALBERTA Fresh water Elasmosaurids, enough said.
- PALEOHISTOLOGY OF A GRAVID OVIRAPTOROSAURIAN DINOSAUR FROM THE UPPER CRETACEOUS NANXIONG FORMATION, CHINA, WITH AN ENIGMATIC ENDOSTEAL TISSUE This is a big one, not only because finding a fossilized dinosaur with developing eggs is extremelly rare but also because upon examination this individual didn't have any medullary bone, basically shooting in the foot all previous evidence that brooding Oviraptorids were males because they had no MB.
- DIETARY ECOLOGY OF THE SCIMITAR-TOOTHED CAT HOMOTHERIUM SERUM FROM FRIESENHAHN CAVE AS INFERRED FROM STABLE ISOTOPES AND DENTAL MICROWEAR: A CHEETAH-LIKE PREDATOR + CORTICAL VS TRABECULAR BONE AND THE SPECIALIZED KILLING BITE OF SABER-TOOTHS Basically confirms that Homotherium was adapted to hunt in open grasslands and probably used multiple bites to kill it's prey.
- THE OLDEST "CHASMOSAURUS"? A NEW SKULL FROM THE JUDITH RIVER FORMATION OF MONTANA A Chasmosaurine from the lowest Judith Formation from roughly the same age as the Wahweap Formation (where the oldest known Centrosaurines were found).
- ANALYSIS OF ROBUSTICITY IN THEROPOD FORLIMBS USING GEOMETRIC MORPHOMETRICS TO INDICATE PREY SIZE PREFERENCE Reviews the forelimb anatomy of several groups of Theropods, comes to the conclusion that Tyrannosaurids did use their forelimbs for prey capture or manipulation.
- EVALUATION OF FLIGHT CHARACTERISTICS OF CANADIAN AZHDARCHID PTEROSAUR MATERIAL REVEALS UNIQUE FUNCTIONAL MORPHOLOGY AND HINTS AT HIDDEN AZHDARCHID TAXONOMIC AND ECOLOGICAL DIVERSITY More short neck Azhdarchids.
- THE LAST OF THE NORTH AMERICAN DROMAEOSAURIDS (THEROPODA: DROMAEOSAURIDAE), BASED ON A NEW MAASTRICHTIAN SPECIMEN FROM NEW MEXICO A new Upper Maastritchian dromeosaurid that appears distinct from Acheroraptor and Dakotaraptor.
- NEW TERMINAL CRETACEOUS (LATE MAASTRICHTIAN) NON-AVIAN DINOSAUR DISCOVERIES FROM SOUTH DAKOTA: IMPLICATIONS FOR LARAMIDIAN PALEOECOLOGY AND PALEOBIOGEOGRAPHY Remember that a few months back Leptoceratops was scrapped from Saurian because there was no evidence of it living in South Dakota? Well one of their tooths was recently found and it comes from the same location and stratigraphic position as Bone Butte.
More latter, I'm still on page 164 of my second read.
Spoiler: click to toggle - ORNITHOMIMID MATERIAL FROM THE LOWER SCOLLARD FORMATION (UPPER MAASTRICHTIAN) OF ALBERTA, CANADA, CONFIRMS THE PRESENCE OF ORNITHOMIMIDS, INCLUDING ONE LARGE-BODIED TAXON, AT THE END OF THE CRETACEOUS PRIOR TO THE CRETACEOUS-PALEOGENE BOUNDARY A material describing remains of what may possibly be several species of Ornithomimid, the large bodied taxon is likely the same species as the one present in Hell Creek, the one exhibited in Los Angeles Museum.
-A PARTIAL EGG OF DEINONYCHUS ANTIRRHOPUS CONTAINING EMBRYONIC BONES, FROM THE UNIT VI CHANNEL STRATUM OF THE EARLY CRETACEOUS CLOVERLY FORMATION OF CENTRAL MONTANA Self explanatory, probably the first Eudromeosaurid embryo found?
- A SINGULAR UPPERMOST CRETACEOUS DINOSAUR NESTING AREA IN THE VILLALBA DE LA SIERRA FORMATION (GUADALAJARA, CENTRAL SPAIN) National bias + More information about the poorly studied Theropod fauna of the Ibero-Armorican region.
- DENTAL CARIES IN THE EXTINCT SHORT-FACED BEAR (ARCTODUS SIMUS) AND INTRA-GUILD COMPETITION DURING THE LATE PLEISTOCENE An interesting paper since it shows that just like in modern predatory and omnivore species the diet can vary greatly depending on the enviornment and the competition present.
- DID SIZE MATTER FOR SURVIVING THE CRETACEOUS-PALEOGENE MASS EXTINCTION EVENT? An interesting study but the main reason why I consider a highlight is because it shows how badass turtles are.
- ONTOGENETIC CHANGES IN BONE TISSUE OF SAUROLOPHUS ANGUSTIROSTRIS (DINOSAURIA: ORNITHISCHIA) FROM THE LATE CRETACEOUS OF MONGOLIA + LIFE HISTORY OF EDMONTOSAURUS FROM THE LATE CRETACEOUS (MAASTRICHTIAN) RUTH MASON DINOSAUR QUARRY, SOUTH DAKOTA, UNITED STATES I put those two together because apparently they conflict one another, the study about Saurolophus ontogeny argues that the growth rate was comparable to that of Maiasaura but that it kept growing for a longer ammount of time allowing it to reach greater size, the Edmontosaurus paper seems to suggest that the growth period of both E. annectens and Maiasaura was comparable but that the former grew at a higher rate. The paper also supports previous theories about age segragation in gregarious non avian dinosaurs.
- NEW INFORMATION ON THE THEROPOD DINOSAUR CRYOLOPHOSAURUS ELLIOTI FROM THE EARLY JURASSIC HANSON FORMATION OF THE CENTRAL TRANSANTARCTIC MOUNTAINS Getting closer to resolving the phylogenetic relation of the first Antartic non avain Dinosaur discovered.
- RELATIONSHIPS OF DIET AND GASTROLITH SHAPE, USING LAYER CHICKS: IMPLICATION FOR DEINOCHEIRUS DIET The gizzards found on Deinocheirus are more consistent with a mainly herbivorous animal than an opportunistic omnivore.
- THE END OF AN ERA: FAUNAL, PALEOENVIRONMENTAL, AND PALEOCLIMATIC CHANGES IN THE UPPERMOST CAMPANIAN LOWERMOST PALEOCENE EDMONTON GROUP OF ALBERTA, CANADA This study is a biggy, it is by far the most comprehensive study of how the paleoclimate fluctuate through the Edmonton group, it also comes to the conclusion that while the Dinosaur fauna barelly changed throught the period they were important shifts in the paleofauna and vegetation.
- NEW FOSSILS FROM THE LA MESETA FORMATION OF SEYMOUR ISLAND, ANTARCTICA EXPAND OUR UNDERSTANDING OF MIDDLELATE EOCENE ANTARCTIC FAUNA More information about one of the last land fauna assambleges to occur in Antartica before it became inhospitable.
- MICROWEAR AND FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSES OF THEROPOD DENTICLES HIGHLIGHT SHARED FEEDING STRATEGIES AMONG THEROPOD DINOSAURS, BUT DIVERGENT PREY SELECTION BETWEEN DROMAEOSAURIDS AND TROODONTIDS Supports previous speculation of nich partitioning between coexisting Troodontid and Dromaeosaurids.
Spoiler: click to toggle - A TIME TO BROOD: INCUBATION PERIOD IN THE THEROPOD DINOSAUR TROODON FORMOSUS Calculation of the brooding duration of Troodontid eggs, which falls in between that expected from modern Neornithes and Reptiles.
- GROWTH RATES OF GIANTS: HISTOLOGICAL EVIDENCE FOR SIZE RELATED DIFFERENCES IN GROWTH MODELS BETWEEN NORMAL SIZED DIPLODOCOIDS AND A UNIQUE ASSEMBLAGE OF DWARFED LATE JURASSIC DIPLODOCOIDS FROM THE MOTHER'S DAY QUARRY (MORRISON FORMATION, MONTANA, USA) Dwarf sauropods in the middle of the Morrison Formation!!??
- A NEW CENTROSAURINE CERATOPSID FROM THE UPPER CRETACEOUS TWO MEDICINE FORMATION OF MONTANA AND THE EVOLUTION OF THE ‘STYRACOSAUR’ DINOSAURS Also known as "how far down the anagenetic rabbit hole can we go", the study supports Urvogel dev team in synomizing the genus Rubeosaurus to Styracosaurus, further more it provides evidence that S. ovatus has intermediate characteristics between Syracosaurus albertensis and Einosaurus procurvicornis. If you remember there have been previous studies that argued that Einosaurus traits make it very likely that it was ancestral to Acheulosaurus and to the Pachyrhinosaurus complex (which also seems to provide evidence of anagenesis within the genus). That means that we have an almost complete evolutionary line of Pachyrhinosaurini spanning over 5 million years. That's quite remarkable.
After re-reading a few more caught my attention:
- QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS OF AQUATIC ADAPTATION IN DESMOSTYLIA (MAMMALIA: ?AFROTHERIA) BASED ON CRANIAL CHARACTERISTICS Argues about the possibilty that Desmostylus was a semi-aquatic animal, which is at odds with a study published last year.
- INTEGUMENTARY STRUCTURES IN KULINDADROMEUS ZABAIKALICUS, A BASAL NEORNITHISCHIAN DINOSAUR FROM THE JURASSIC OF SIBERIA A more detailed study on Kulindadromeus intergument.
- EXTREME TOOTH ENLARGEMENT IN A NEW LATE CRETACEOUS RHABDODONTID DINOSAUR FROM SOUTHERN FRANCE Sheds more light on the fauna assamblage of the Ibero-Armorican region, also make me wonder if it might had been an evolutinary response to changes in vegetation or increased competition due to the proliferation of Hadrosaurids (the timing might be wrong).
- ON THE POTENTIAL COEVOLUTION OF ANKYLOSAURS AND THEROPODS Explores the possible effects that the rise of Tyrannosauroids had on Ankylosaurids (though I guess that it's somehwat at odds with the prolongued survival of Nodosaurids in Laramidia?)
- A NEW, EARLY RELATIVE OF SABER-TOOTHED SPARASSODONTS(METATHERIA: SPARASSODONTA: THYLACOSMILIDAE) FROM THE EARLY OLIGOCENE CACHAPOAL FAUNA, ANDEAN MAIN RANGE, CENTRAL CHILE Describes what is by far the earliest known Thylacosmilid.
- ABSENCE OF EVIDENCE IS NOT EVIDENCE OF ABSENCE: THE EFFECT OF SPATIAL FOSSIL BIAS IN PALEODIVERSITY ESTIMATES IN THE LATEST CRETACEOUS OF NORTH AMERICA A study that argues that the apparent lower diversity of the Appalachian cretaceous fauna when compared to Laramidia is an artifact caused by the absence of areas with adequated fossilization characteristics and the appropiate erosion.
- ANCESTRAL ECOLOGICAL RECONSTRUCTIONS AND EVIDENCE OF CANOPY DESTRUCTION REVEAL STRONG ECOLOGICAL SELECTIVITY AMONG BIRDS ACROSS THE K-PG MASS EXTINCTION A study that found a correlation between the effects of the K-Pg extinction on the vegetation and the extinction and survival of certain avian clades.
