Click on it in the place it is. It should show the size in the bottom left corner of the screen. If you have windows 8.1.

Open a folder and write
Code:

%appdata%\Microsoft Games\Zoo Tycoon 2

Here :

Then click on your ZT2 profile name, then click on the "Saved" folder and look for the saved zoo's file :

The bug of this file being 0 byte often appears for some reason so for future zoos please make sure you create backups of your files.

I know this is a bump, but it's relevant. The same thing happened to me yesterday and now my file is corrupt. It is indeed 0 kB. This was my best zoo ever...

My preventive solution is to have two .z2s files :
let's imagine you create a zoo named "myZoo", so you save it for the first time under the name of "myZoo".
Then, you continue your work and the next time you save, name it "myZoo_bak".
Then, you continue again and the next time you save, overwrite the save "myZoo".
Then the next time you overwrite "myZoo_bak".
etc, etc, etc.
No need to open the "Saved" folder to copy your file in another folder, all is done via the game UI.
In short save your maps once in two under "myZoo" and once in two under "myZoo_bak".
Tip : when you save your zoo that way, you always select the second save in the list because it's sorted by last modification date. Not the first.

That way you're sure not to loose your whole zoo if the bug happens but just unsaved work.
Indeed the more your save, the better.
