Badge System; I'm curious...

So, I'm trying to set up a badge system on my own forum, to coincide with the text game it focuses on, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me what system The Round Table uses for the Pointy Zoo, and how it is implemented.

If someone could tell me, I'd be very grateful, and I'm sure my forum's members would also greatly appreciate the info, as it's been holding up our update for a while now. :worship:

Hey MonsterHunterGarth!

TRT uses a code made by Viral called the Advanced Award System: http://support.zathyus.com/topic/5068409/1/

This code is specifically made for Zetaboards forums, so it isn't really relevant if your forum is not a Zetaboards forum. You could certainly create an equivalent code to this one on any forum software though.

We have made some changes to the code linked above, and I could help you out with customising it to suit your needs if you have anything you'd like to add/change about it (For example, in the past we updated the code so that it could be used with sprite sheets as opposed to individual images. The main disadvantage of the code is that it requires manual input of awards/animals/badges/whatever you are using it for. This can be made at least a little easier by creating a form to automatically generate a line of code which you can paste straight into the awards list, and I can show you how to do this if you'd like. However, if you only plan on having a small number of badges, it should be fine as is.

Also, I would strongly advise hosting the code on an external site (such as github), as it makes editing the code easier than uploading a new file each time, and often the code becomes too big to just put into the default zetaboards board template.
