Gastric Brooding Frog - Code Skin Test Bugfix Publish
Done In-Progress Not Done

Hey everyone, and welcome to my little corner of the modding community. I have recently decided to get into modding for this game, and have a few projects in the works, including a gastric brooding frog. Today though, I am going to show you something a little simpler: A sign.

Here is the display part for an Ivory-Billed Woodpecker sign I am making using the Giant Panda sign by Smannsaker as a base for the layout. Credits go to Sophie from Zeta-Designs for the sign base model.

It looks nice. I see where you got the fun fact from.

So, when I go to test the sign in game, I find the item in the menu, the zoopedia works, everything has the right text, etc.

One problems becomes apparent when the images below are seen: The signs themselves are white! Does anyone know how this might have happened? Did I forget to name something?

I have encountered this in some of the signs that I have downloaded. It looks like there is an issue where the graphics are not being connected to the sign.

Ok. I will go back and check to see if I accidentally mistyped something. While I sort that out, here is what is going on in regards to my gastric brooding frog: I have modified the code of the Australian green tree frog from Amphibia to allow it to give live birth. I have been unable to test it until now because it would not show up in-game, but I believe I have figured out why and am in the process of testing the birth code. After that, I have to create the skin for it and do some finishing touches.

I am excited to see the Gastric Brooding Frog! Definitely a strange creature. Best of luck with everything.

Its in the coding. Make sure that you code the name of your file correctly in the XML document. Make sure the nif file in the XML is the same name as the nif file I hope that makes since. I use to have the same problem when I first did my signs.

Edit:
Also check the Nif file in the block list make sure you changed the name to the .dds file your using. Eample Change SignA_Sophie.dds to SignA_Woodpecker.dds.

Check these setting to see if this fixes your problem.

Thanks! I will do that and see if it works.

Also, when I went in to continue coding my gastric brooding frog, I found a file called reproduction.beh. However, reproduction was already coded in the main .beh file. What does this reproduction.beh do that is so different from the main .beh file?

Lamb's ear? I love that plant so much, it's so soft and well... pettable. Yes, I stop and pet those plants.

Yep! I am a big fan of those plants as well. I once wanted a pillow stuffed with the down from their leaves!

Here is the current lamb's ear plant model in Blender

I am trying to decide if I want to add a variant with a flower spike, or leave it with just the leaves. I made it following the plant creation tutorial by Yukon.

Will do. I still need to add some variations in the leaves anyways.

Edit: Somehow, I messed up the model. It now displays in Blender as a pink blob. I was going to remake it anyway, so it wasn't a real setback.

Two things!

One, which biome is this going to be in? I see them all over, but mostly in fields... so... Temperate grasslands? Or is temperate deciduous forest a better fit?

Two, there is a way to program them to put out a flower spike after a while- the aloe or agave plant did this in the original game. You could probably ask around if you wanted to do this, or look at the code of the two plants.
