I'm currently watching my praying mantis eat two crickets at once.

I found an egg sack in May and kept one of the babies all summer.

That's nice...

They're deadly little things... XD
One of them was on my hummingbird feeder the other day sizing them up.

That thing is a garbage disposal, he just finished and he's already hunting a third.
Plus he ate four yesterday. For reference those are one inch crickets. Big for such a small bug.

mantis are the best insect to keep. they have those eyes that stare in your soul ...
i managed to breed them twice but i always failed to hatch the eggs.

Oh , from hatching eggs, It remembers me of the peacock eggs in my home. I didn't even try breeding them but they laid eggs. Well, they are really 'god birds' as people say, because my second Biology project was to write down a report on the hatching process of an egg. Giving a peacock one will surely give me a rank , again !

actually no. the first time i got an already pregnant female, and the second, i kept the female well fed all the time, so the male could do his job safely. he was eaten later ...

Well, the peacock eggs are doing fine. I hope they are going to hatch ...................

Anyway, my mother was continuously trying to use a hen to give the eggs heat but it was running away to her own eggs. At last It is giving heat to both the eggs !
