I knew the French education system was bad, but it seems like excellent compared to the American school system...

I'm not slow! That's just my moe!

Canada's is not much better
admittedly the only differences are better unions and benefits for teachers, and mandatory attendance up until grade 12

Maths here is like studying in ninth standard, having maths book of the 10th standard, and the exam questions of 11th standard. :P

It's horrific, and the only reason for the fall of my grades. :(

I remember a guy at school got in trouble for writing in the 'Explain how you worked this out' box he just wrote "With a calculator"

Seems perfectly legit to me, no one actually needs to do your out the ass mathematical methods to sort out math problems that have no application in the real world, and if for whatever reason you need the answer everyone has computers/the internet to answer it
Reminds me of my brother. He answered a question on his religion exam with "God knows the answer".
And he actually got points for it xD

That goes your Bengal-only based board school, but mine is the international board, so, you know the levels of study are different. ;)

Yours is fair, ours is out-of-question to be fair. :(

Aaaand, I have been wondering if there will be a writing contest for Halloween or not..... :roll:

I've had lots of different kinds of tests for math. Yes a lot are multiple choice, but even the biggest tests I've taken have had written response sections so you can't guess the whole way through (but they don't give you enough time to guess and check anyway; you either know it or you don't). My regular school tests have always been written response, so meh.

I like math. :)

@Kohana: This is relevant :P http://theoatmeal.com/comics/computer_phases
There's some not very child-friendly language in there though.
