Although there is a good list at The Showroom concerning the animals used in Australian/New Zeeland zoos ( due their strict import regulations ), I was wondering if there's a more up to date and less "Zoo Tycoon"-oriented so to speak version of it elsewhere ? The current one found at TS focusses primarily on the animals available at that time, but I'd like to know if there is an "official" list somewhere.

Well basically, Australia and New Zeeland both have very strict animal import regulations. Zoos can't get every animal they want, only a select amount of animals are allowed in those zoos, which is basically what I'm looking for, a list of animals that are allowed in Australia and New Zeeland

I'll keep looking around too if that helps. ![]() I was wondering if anyone had any idea for a mongoose enclosure? Every time I try to make one it always comes out so bland.

Moose, bears, wolves, ibex, snow leopard, seals, and other deer would be good choices. |

What about animals like elephants though and other more tropical species? Like what's been done before in cold climate zoos? |

Well if you keep tropical animals in zoos where is always cold and snowy climate then you need to build indoor enclosures and provide heat and humidity. They can't stay / survive outside for a long time. I don't know if there are exceptions to that. There probably are but i don't know them. Usually in zoos when winter comes, the tropical animals are moved into the indoor exhbitis and just let them out a short time every day. That is why indoor enclosure's facilities are as important as outdoor enclosure's facilities.
