Sorry for double posting but:

- Is ok to mix crested gibbons with white handed gibbons or siamangs in the same exhibit?

I think so, I remember seing a zoo on TV that had two gibbons species in the same exhibit (forgot which ones).

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.

wouldn't that be confusing for the guests which species is which??

Well i was more preocupied about interbreeding thant guests education xD But white handed gibbons are quite different from crested gibbons i think.

Seeing as they are not in the same genus (Lar is Hylobates, Crested is Nomascus, respectively) they are not prone to the inbreeding you could get when mixing a lar with a silvery or a crested with a Northern white-cheeked.

I would recommend Siamangs with Lars though because their ranges overlap in the wild as well.

Thanks Nils! I don't have a simang though so i guess i will combine the two gibbon species in one exhibit.

Anyone know of any species I could use for an Indian section of a zoo? So far, it has Bengal tigers, gharials, and wildboars, and I plan on adding Indian rhinos, blackbuck, and axis deer, but it feels like I don't have enough species in the section. :/ I don't want elephants, because I plan on making an African elephant exhibit. So any ideas?

What kind of fence would you use for a lion exhibit?

Edit- Also, would lions try and avoid getting into the water? So if I put a water moat in, the guests would be safe (if I had a low fence)?

@Deltadromeus1: I believe the Chester zoo had them together at one point but separated them due to interspecies aggression so it is plausible if the exhibit was large enough (and maybe had a separate area that one species wasn't able to access that the other has free access to)

@Flish: Nilgai, Ganges River Shark, Greater Adjunct, Demoiselles Crane, Vervet monkeys would go well in an Indian themed area.

@Hippopotomus: I usually use glass for guest areas and chain-link for non guest areas, you could use anything really. If you wanted to do a moat the lions don't usually swim (many zoos do it, the U.S. National Zoo keeps lions behind a moat and had to make sure the cubs were capable of swimming before putting them on exhibit, the video was adorable :3) but moats are usually still paired with a concrete barrier.

Sangai Deer would work, as well as Greater Adjutants, Pygmy Hogs (not sure if want those if you're doing Boar as well), Asian Buffalo, Ringnecked Parakeets, and there are several Indian vultures available, and an Indian cobra somewhere. Lots of options ;)
