Yep that is what i did for my black rhino exhibit. Visitors can watch the rinos from elevated platforms and everything is fenced with rocks.

So I'm starting to plan out how I want MFAS' pond/waterfowl area to look, and I've run into something of a problem... I don't want to make the entire exhibit a covered aviary, but I also don't want to imply that the facility is pinioning the birds' wings (cutting at the flight joint, which is what many zoos do to waterfowl, cranes, flamingos, etc., to keep them from flying away). Would simply clipping the flight feathers keep the birds from flying away without permanently damaging/maiming them? In other words, would clipping feathers on a routine basis prevent the birds from escaping but maintain their ability to eventually grow the feathers back so that they could fly?

Basically, I don't want to "maim" the birds within the storyline of the park, but I also want The Pond to be a (mainly) outdoor, uncovered area. Help!

Yep, that's what Zoo Antwerp does to it's flamingo's. Their feathers are cut once a year. They never escaped as far as I know ;)

Some birds can be quite territorial, so I don't think they'd even require that.
Mallards can stay in a place all the time if they finmd themselves at home.

Well the native species won't be clipped at all. They can come and go as they please (so Mallards and Canada Geese). The rest will probably be clipped. Thanks for the help/info, guys! :)

Yes i think is perfect, although it looks more like a natura landscape than a exhibit xD

Indoor areas like stables are always a nice addition but i have no idea how moose are kept in zoos indoor xD

I can't see the fence so i can't say anything about that :P

Maybe adding a couple more trees like the ones from American adventures would help the most exhibit.

Yep, I think if you're going for realism, using the trees from American Adventures and Aves will help you a lot :) Also, I think the JH's flowers would be a nice touch as well (I think there's some in AA as well though)

We do this to our own ducks and chickens, so yes, it works :P
