I dont know about other people, but I usually just kind of wing it I make a large species list and put in what I want when I want to, and if something gets left out, so be it The park Im working on right now is really the first one Ive actually made out a specific species list and organized all the species into separate sections. However, when working on a section Ill still probably use the same basic approach, just making sure to get everything instead

I usually plan a rough layout for my zoo by placing all the paths down first, but other than that the same, pretty much just winging it for the most part.

I usually draw the exhibits in paper or paint before building them in the game. I also made a species list and organize the zoo in sections. So yeah, i make a general plan of the zoo before start building

Wow that's a pretty long list! Looks like your bird zoo is going to have all the species needed. Can't wait to see it

I'm not the only one! I use Sumo Paint at work to come up with a general layout (I even have a graph paper image saved on my desktop that I set as the background lolol). I keep zoolex.org up as well for ideas, and I almost *always* have a specific species or species list in mind before I start building. The actual buildings themselves (in terms of style and shape) I do at home with the game running. I usually try to pick out textures I want for fences, etc., beforehand. I basically alternate between outlining exhibits and pathways so that everything fits ("Okay, this exhibit is going to look like this, so the pathway will come up to it here, and here, and here... then this other exhibit is going to go like this, so then the pathway will go..." etc). There are always adjustments to be made once I really start *building* the thing, because there's always something I think of at the last minute, or didn't think of (and should have), or I change the initial plan for whatever reason... But yeah, I almost always go in with a game plan if I'm building a specific zoo for an S&T, contest, etc. If I'm just messing around, it's just whatever comes to mind. I end up getting a lot of good ideas from those "playful" sessions that I try to incorporate in my actual ongoing zoos. But yay! I'm not the only

That doesn't make you crazy for sketching and getting a general layout for your zoos beforehand, honestly I think it makes more sense. I just don't have the patience, talent or creativity to do so. |

I'm just like you guys... First I do my species list (in the boring classes ), then I plan the building set and fence combo I'll use, then I think which sections my park will have.Later, I draw the map in PowerPoint and then I draw the most special parts of the zoo in paper where I also put some squares with how it may look in game, the perspective and all. So, I start the game part. Foliage combo, fence combo, testing all, seeing if it all fits, etc. And I start building the entrance somewhere, and later very away from it I build a random exhibit. And it goes.

Hi guys! I have a question. I'm designing a conservation center for flying foxes that will be part of my new zoo. I just designed the main atraction that is a walkthrough tropical house where people will walk through elevated paths at the same level as the foxes. This exhibit will recreate their natural tropical forest habitat. My question is: what other animals can i put in this large exhibit besides the flying foxes? |
