So I want to have a walkthrough exhibit with island animals, including lemurs and the exhibit is surrounded by a moat to create a lemur island exhibit. What animals, besides lemurs, could I place in the exhibit that is found in tropical/neotropical islands. including Australia, that are in the Pacific or Indian Oceans, can be placed in a walkthrough( so it can't be aggresive), and won't attack the lemurs and what adjustments do I have to make for each animal. Also is it okay if I have reef fish, like sharks, and turtles living in the moat surrounding the lemur island or do I have to make adjustments or it's not possible?

An outdoor moat doesn't seem the right environment for reef animals, it would be subject to several changes in the water temperature, quality etc.

Plus if an unlucky lemur fell from a branch into the water then he could be eaten by a shark or cut by the coral.

So what animals, which are found on islands in the Indian or Pacific Oceans and are able to be in a walkthrough, that could be combined with lemurs, the exhibit will still have the moat minus the reef animals.

wallabies? They are quite small and lie on the ground, so it could be good :)

Not completely true. There's a resort/casino called the Atlantis Casino that has a huge aquarium that features outdoor tanks. Not too sure if there are reef animals in said tanks but I do know, for instance, that they have a one-of-a-kind water slide there:

I first heard about this place from the TV show Fish Tank Kings (Love that series)

While I agree with you the Atlantis resort is located in the Bahamas or something and that outdoor pool is so massive it's basically a lagoon. xD

I think Furka meant that the average run-of-the-mill moat was unsuitable lol

Thanks for the suggestions, I really like Wallabies. Would Laysan Ducks or Aldabra Tortoises also work with Lemurs?

Also would the outdoor tank work if the island for the lemurs was in the middle of a lagoon, the exhibit will be separated from the Island by glass walls then to protect the lemurs? If not can the lagoon hold Dugongs or turtles, marine species or freshwater species? By the way would it help to know that the zoo is in Cape Town, South Africa.

I'm looking for a small animal that lives in the Congo region that is endangered and can go with monkeys. Any Ideas?

Some kind of duiker maybe? I've seen them combined with otters too, although i don't know if the otters are endangered.

I'm looking for something smaller. The exhibit is like this but a little smaller.

Well i think duikers could work. I used mouse deer for a similar aviary once and i've seen pudus kept in those kind of aviaries in a local zoo as well.

Would an Abbot's Duiker work?

No, abot duikers are too large.
