It seems lots of florida zoos are coming. That seems to happen a lot. I decide to do a zoo in a location thats currently popular. Then it takes me so long to do it that its no longer popular. Only this time I started planning on it months ago. Just now everyones doing one. Next zoo I do is going to take place in a fictional country!!! Yes one that has rainbow flowers and rainbow trees. THEN NO ONE WILL HAVE DONE IT PRIOR TO ME FINISHING!!! MWAAHHAHAHAHAH I really need to become quicker at this. |

Sounds really great Hudson, can't wait to see it And yeah Florida is an atractive place to make zoos, because of its climate. You can have diferent kind of tropical and wetlands animals, and of course is perfect for marine parks ![]() I just finished the entrance and the small "waterfalls" cafe which also has view to the first exhibits (mandarin ducks, chinese goose, pekin duck, whipe naped crane and blackfaced spoonbill. I quite happy with the result (i'm talking about my new asian zoo btw)Guys i need some ideas for a red panda exhibit! I don't want to build an aviary, i want to make an open exhibit, but i was looking at pictures in google and nothing convince me... what do you recomend? Edited by Ignacio, Apr 26 2013, 06:09 PM.

I'd recommend having an elevated view, a few trees away from the tall solid fence. I'd have some posts or logs connecting trees if possible. |

What I am using is a PU tree, PU vines, all of the original wetland trees that are listed in the map as american. Accept the pine. The wetland grass, my wetland maple tree, bamboo reskinned to match the green, wetland rocks, spike grass, lilly pads. I am using a quite unique fencing option also. Unlike any done before. Its based on the style of MIBound but uses a different set of fences. |

I think it looks a bit too tropical for Florida, but I may be wrong depending on where you are... Either way, everything looks beautiful! |

Florida is very tropical. Infact I'd argue that it needs to be more tropical. As Florida is tropical. |

I was thinking about Tampa or Orlando, they are my favorite cities there... Not sure if I will continue with Florida as this is the best foliage option for me |

Yes Florida is quite tropical... but i recomend selecting 2 or 3 trees and sticking with them. And use some flowers too like the blue ones. The red ones is actually quite dificult to make it look nice, at least for me... anyaway this afternoon i finished the panda section of my asian zoo and i'm really happy with the result

3 trees would work but 2 trees is two few. Maybe the guioa or my wetland maple, a palm tree, and mangrove. I still think having a 4th tree would be good for Florida. |

@ Zoocrazy - You can try using Lucoshi's red panda reskin . Any suggestions for a sand cat exhibit ? I already did a combo of grass and sand for it's biome . Also , I'm currently needing suggestions for foliage on it's exhibit since I'm making it in a tropical zoo . |

Well, i don't know about that skin as i don't know it, but i'm going to wait for the remakes of the pandas by AD anyaway (that red panda is incredible cute), but thanks for the tip ![]() And i build a sand cat exhibit once for a Desert zoo but it wasn't any good to be honest, way to simple. I make like a small lake for it to drink, and different highst for the ground inside the enclosure and a few scrub and desert foliage and some leafless shrubs. I use a chainlink fence for the gorund level viewing area, and conected the exhibit to an indoor shelter/house for the cats. But if you are making the exhibit in a tropical zoo, you can use some palm trees... and maybe place some tree trunks and rocks for the cat to climb and play with. Yeah I'd go with tree trunks, rocks, and maybe a generic bush. |
