Could Mandarin ducks live in a tropical aviary with tropical birds from around the world, or would they be better in a temperate environment? |

They definitely can, Central Park, Toronto and Bronx zoos exhibit them this way. I know they do best in a Nocturnal House setting, but can Night Monkeys can be exhibit on a normal light cycles (not reversed). Would the guests see them or not at all? Also, is there anything on their husbandry I can find on the Internet? Thank you! Edited by Uolym, Jul 14 2016, 12:05 PM.

At Edinburgh zoo they are kept in a diurnal house an I saw them out and about. As for husbandry, the new England primate conservancy has a comprehensive page about them |

For my zoo name I looked for the Latin translation for Animal Kingdom. Google Translate says Animal Regnum, but also gives the option of Fera/Ferus (Wild animal). Can somebody maybe tell me the difference between Fera and Ferus? |

![]() First part of my new zoo, all shown areas are build yet (a lot of the foliage has to be placed though, but exhibit borders are placed). Too bad the numbers inside the green circles won't be readable in the end Will probably do something with circles with outercircle for section and innerdot to specify the species.About the zoo, you currently see the work I've done on four different maps. Left above the entrance section with a parkinggarage, a small pond for ducks and the final four exhibit of the zoo. Middle above is the Chinese section and middle below is the Indonesian Islands section (left above part of that is a part I will build on a different map). Right above is the Gir Forest/Mongolia/Siberia (all in one map) section. I'll probably need a lot more maps to finish this zoo. At least one on the right side to cover Greenland. After Greenland a map for Europe, a map for North America, then two maps for South America and two or even three for Africa (forest, desert, savanna and Madagascar). After this probably one map for Oceania/Hawaii which should connect with the current map shown left above. So when everything goes according to plan I will finish with thirteen maps In the four maps I've shown now, already 51 species are on display. So I guess I'll reach 150-200 in the end.And then I want to build a aquarium... A big one of course. I want this zoo to be the biggest I've build ever and of course after this I'll never make a bigger one for sure. So that probably will become around 2/3 maps, with big tanks for Whale Sharks, Orcas and a lot more marine life. Hopefully also around 100 different species (including small fish though). Inside the spoiler is the current species list. Spoiler: click to toggle Thanks to Jony for explaining and inspiring for making this map! |

I'm building a Przewalski's horse exhibit, but I'm not sure what fence to use. Any suggestions?

I should go for a ditch in front, so you can choose a low fence, which makes it easier to create the feeling of the Mongolian steppes (with lower fences you mostly have the feeling the exhibit is larger). |

I've got my sibling's old computer which is basically the same thing as I had before. Time to install ZT2, download 600 downloads and then combine the files, find a new foliage style for my zoo and rebuild all of my stuff. I know what I'll be doing tonight... |

Any tips for vintage zoos? Like during the age of cages and grottos? |

Use a lot of bars and species. Also take a look at some old zoo pictures as those will help. Think in the mindset of a 20's zoo director where you are competing with other zoo's collections and trying to make as much money as possible showing wild animals. |

Kind of an odd question: I am looking into getting a new computer within the next few months that can play Zoo Tycoon 2. Probably gonna get Windows 10 by chance (I'd prefer 7 or 8), what should my new computer's settings be? |

I just started building a second zoo for my company (I don't give any details about it atm, though ). One area is about European freshwater animals, these include otters, beavers, minks, sea eagles and more. So, now my problem is I don't have any ideas how to start this area, I especially want to build an entrance portal but can't find any good solution ![]() Do you have any ideas or know real zoos with such areas that I could use for inspiration?
