I think monkeys would be a pretty good thing to put in there. Maybe mona monkeys or lesser white nosed. Other thing that came to mind was African Leopard (You could probably change the part where the fence touches the path into glass). |

Genets or civets could be another option. African golden cat (as burns said, change the glass meets fence bit), other small cats. Possibly owls but we don't have any exclusively African owls ( we have barn, little and tawny) |

Thanks for the replies, I've decided to go with the Lesser Spot-nosed Monkeys, as I'd have to rebuild the entire exhibit to fit Civets or small Cats, and that'd make it way too small. |

In the park I'm currently building at the entrance before the paths branch off to many themed areas there is a small walkway besides a lake through a small forest. I have space for 4, 5 or maybe 6 exhibits there. Can anyone suggest suitable animals that could be found towards the entrance of a park? Thanks in advance

I'd say take advantage of the lake and add a waterfowl pond, maybe flamingoes and/or pelicans too. |

Like Furka said I would use the lake for flamingos and maybe some separated parts of the lake for a Crane species. Here in the Netherlands you've got a few zoos who have/had African Penguins at the entrance, which would also be nice and maybe Capybaras? Not really from the same continents, but I don't know if you care too much about that. Else I would say: Africa: Greater or Lesser Flamingos with African Penguins, Meerkats South America: American or Chilean Flamingos with Capybaras, Brown Pelicans North America: American Flamingos with Beavers, Racoons, Whooping Cranes, Red Fox, Wild Turkey And maybe an Otter species? |

You can always do the old favorite and stock the lake with fish. |

Thanks for the input guys, I've decided to leave the actual lake untouched so I will include wild waterfowl in it. I have taken your ideas on board and this is what I've come up with, any adjustments or comments to make? Thanks again ![]() Also a quick question, can anyone tell me, do I have to be a member of the RTZI to make a press room or can I make one for my parks without being in it? I'm currently making an exhibit complex with the main theme being bamboo, a bamboo forest. So far I decided to include red pandas (of course), eastern bongos (some live in the bamboo forests of east African mountains) and servals (same as the eastern bongo). I was hoping if you could suggest me any animals that live in this kind of habitat, it would be much appreciated.

Hmm ... you could have a part for Malagasy bamboo forests (and in general Eastern Madagascar lowland forests) : Chameleons (Parson's , Panther) , Geckos (Madagascar day gecko) , Malagasy tomato frog (Dyscophus antongili) , Red ruffed lemur (Varecia rubra) , golden bamboo lemur , a species of coua (snail-eating for ex.) , dwarf or mouse lemurs species etc... Otherwise as Dylan said , Asia is not lacking of bamboo forests. Just do a quick research and you'll find way more species Central Ethiopia has some bamboo forests where some pretty cool species live (coughBale Mountains vervetcough) but Ethiopia's export laws are very strict. African bamboo forests make a perfect environnement for some guenon species and as KoenZoo said Mountain gorillas (even tho the latter is not present in captivity outside of Congo) Edited by Zoo Tycooner FR, Jan 22 2017, 08:28 AM.

Thank you all so far for your suggestions, I usually create exhibits with species that currently have a captive population, so animals like mountain gorillas are sadly "off limits". The new animals included are Temmick's tragopans, rhinoceros horn-bills and Asian black bear. Could the Aye-Aye be used as an "ambassador" of the bamboo forests of Madagascar ? |

Not exactly from bamboo forests but I'd say go for it . It's from Eastern Madagascar and could make a great ambassador .
