Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

Yes, but sometimes we need punishment as well, not just ignore them and let them do what they want! Like in my case, palying car's horn, increase TV volume to top, smash the toys at wall and killing my pet!

To me, at home. Ignoring it might be acceptable, but in public, it should be taught that it will not be stood for at all. If I acted out in public then my parents would take me to the restroom and slap me on the hand, I was not to embarrass them or bother other people.

Also, it shouldn't be acceptable at all for them to break things during a tantrum, even at home. Crying, screaming and jumping around is one thing, but being physically destructive is going overboard. I dunno, maybe it's just me or the way I was raised. (I was raised with corporal punishment). I was never grounded, or had privileges taken away from me, but it was a hand (when younger) and a belt when older. I'm still not disrespectful even if I'm too old to get the belt anymore.

Ignoring them isn't the best solution in my beliefs.

If you discipline them, they'll learn not to do it again :P

Well, to each his own, I suppose. No way of discipline is wrong to a certain extent. However, I don't believe in physical discipline at all. In public, lowering yourself to their level, looking at them eye to eye, and giving them a hard stare will usually shut them up. If not the case, pulling/forcing your child will just cause even more watchful eyes.

I'm not saying that children should do whatever they want. Discipline is a necessary evil in parenting, as children will not understand just by ignoring. However, I find methods such as the naughty corner and taking privileges away much more convenient, not necessarily more lenient. It's just a different, nonviolent way of getting your child to behave. If I ever do have kids, I will for sure use sentimental discipline rather than physical, mainly because physical doesn't work on everyone, and could cause scarring in later years.

If I ever get kids, I want to keep any violence as far from them as possible. I don't even want them to think that they can hurt someone.
In my opinion, shame is the best way to shut someone up and teach him a lesson.

Can we just avoid the whole PU argument? I'm getting really tired of everyone grumbling about it.

On another note, I'm annoyed by summer reading projects. And my camera's lens cap, with likes to randomly fly off when I touch it.

Why? They don't have to release it if they don't want to. If you want it so bad why don't you learn to make it yourself! -.-
