Thank you for the set, Azrael!

..we have only two couples here and neither of them ever fills entire topics with nothing but hearts and kisses. I simply don't find anything about it annoying and wouldn't even if they did.

I guess it just comes down to personal pet-peeves, then. Personally, if someone is showing the amount of public affection that i'm talking about then I truly start to see it as spam.

I agree that people should not be offended by - acceptable - amounts of public shows of affection, for example, in real life; holding hands, kissing occasionally, saying "I love you" and all that. But, there's a limit to how much should be publicly displayed, and if that line is crossed then people start to get uncomfortable around those people and/or annoyed. I shudder to think how the public shows of affection on this board would get translated into real life. It's really just none of everyone elses business.

It's also my personal belief that if a relationship consists of mainly cutesy messages then there really isn't much real love going on there. I'm sorry to be blunt about it, but that's the only way I know how to say it. It's just a very shallow and juvenile relationship, or at least, that's how it comes across when that's all you display to the public.

Who are you even referring to with this? Nobody is spamming the forum with lovey-dovey posts as far as I can tell... about the most lovey-dovey thing were the pointie animal messages Flishstar and I had but even they're gone now and they were private anyway.

And I can assure you the "lots of cutesy messages" isn't all there is. The forum couples here don't just speak only on the forums, afterall.

I suppose it's just me, but I find it cute and don't mind if people are affectionate here. I suppose it's probably because I briefly did it myself but even before that I never minded it. I'm really just happy for anyone who has someone like that and it doesn't make me uncomfortable.

Mainly Danny and Zozmonster, both of whom I have the utmost respect for. They're both great people, I just don't like the PDA. :P

I know that every single topic isn't getting spammed with love messages, but every single post I see of theirs when they respond to or mention the other person is lovey-dovey to extreme degrees, and I've run into it all over the board. But, I'm not trying to target anyone here. Not them, and not you. When I say I hate overdone PDA, i'm not just talking about you guys, but anyone who does it.

I understand that these relationships might have deeper meaning to them, but my point is that that's not what's being displayed to the public. If that's all I see from two people then, sorry to say it, but I'm not going to take their relationship seriously. I just can't, because nothing substantial is being displayed.

I don't think Danny and zozmonster are over-the-top at all personally.

Honestly, writing lovey-dovey stuff in public is just fun and has a cheap sort of thrill, in my experience. You generally don't discuss your deep personal things and have substantial conversations with your partner on the forums - if you're together you're almost certainly going to be doing that on IM or on the phone or something.

EDIT : I had written something irrelivent to the topic here. So, i remove it.

This post is not really relevant to the topic. This thread is for discussing what you find annoying. The "Status" or "The Hangout" topics would be more suited to this kind of post.

Well, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree then. :P I understand where you're coming from about the thrill thing, but I still feel like there's better ways to go about it. You can still express your love in public in a less, "cheap" way.

And obviously no-one is going to have deep, heartfelt conversations in public with their partner. That's not what I meant. :P I just mean that there should also be more serious - and by serious, I really just mean normal - messages and interaction between them in public. If you're just cutesy with each other all the time then the relationship just appears fake. And, to be quite honest, rather uncomfortable since it's not natural communication.

Edit: ...Actually, I would like to apologize. I just realized that I am on a forum where it's mostly kids around, so It's not really my place to complain or pick on juvenile relationships when i'm in a young community. I guess it's just up to me to remove myself if I don't like it, so that's my mistake. Sorry about that, susan/danny/sheather.

No it's really fine :')

You're free to say what you want in this topic as long as it doesn't go against the rules. I doubt any of us are really offended and to be honest, I found your comments here somewhat helpful. If public displays of affection are causing others to feel uncomfortable then we should definitely be more careful with how we communicate with each other :)

Regardless, none of it bothers me in the slightest.

And I'm certainly not offended. :3

I'm glad we can discuss this maturely here without whole flame-wars breaking out. As far as ZT2 sites and members go, i'm happy to be a part of one where we seem to have a more mature batch of people - and staff - than many forums have in the past. :)
