GERD. I just noticed that two of my teeth are chipping and I suspect acid reflux is to blame. |

The problem is that we atheists don't even believe there is an eternal paradise to go to in the first place. I just see no reason to believe there's an afterlife besides fear of death (but hey, that just gives me an excuse to live my current life to the fullest). Also, I don't think comparing scientific theory to religion is such a good idea. I'm not insulting religion or anything, but the reason science teaching is required by law is because most of what is taught about science is accepted fact, and as such people should know it, but the Bible is just a series of metaphorical truths that could be interpreted in many other ways (including atheism). In other words, you're incorrect in saying we "loathe religion", which we certainly don't. We just don't think it's fair to be forced against our will to go somewhere and do things that we have no reason to, because we just don't believe in these things and never will. Which brings me to another annoyance. The belief that atheists are immoral and will never be happy because we don't have a god in our life. I'm perfectly content with my life the way it is, thank you very much, and just because I don't believe in God doesn't mean I'm evil or amoral. I do the right things and am a good person because I CHOSE to be, not because a god had my path set for me. |

This kind of rises one of my annoyances: when people I know, who appear to be very religious, happily go against their own religion on the basis that they'll be 'forgiven' if they plead for it. But according to them an atheist is supposed to be tormented on this world and in the afterlife even if they're the nicest, most kind-hearted person in the world. Which is basically hunting down the opposing minority for the sake of 'strenghtening the bonds' between the cult members and assuring them that they do the right thing. Doesn't happen in one religion. In quite many of them. Even those that are now deemed 'mythology' by the living ones. |

Lazyness. lazyness of all kinds, lazyness in writing, filmmaking, tv series making, painting, news reports, paleontological reconstructions, any kind of lazyness annoys me. the only kind of lazy that doesn't annoy me is just being mellow and watching TV, and even that can turn out with bad results. |

To be fair, me nor Stephen never mentioned atheists weren't happy or were without morals or you should be forced to go, we were just saying it's not as bad as folks were making it out to be if your trying to please your family. I have atheist friends you know, but they'll attend church or sing a song with the rest of us if it's appropriate at the time just so there's no argument from older folks because, if you really don't believe, why do you feel it so taboo to be there or do something in relation to it?

i guess it's because they could spend that time doing something else more useful in their minds. i'm no longer going to the Church, but to be honest the only thing i disliked is the fact it takes places on sunday morning. ON. SUNDAY. MORNING. |

It's not making my family happy I disagree with, but a moral opposition to the Catholic church, in my personal case. I did not and do not want to support or be involved with something I'm morally opposed to. I wouldn't enjoy it, but I'd probably be more indifferent to a less.... anti-gay denominational church, especially a fun one like Azrael mentioned. Black churches do seem so much more fun than other ones.

Ahahaha, basically my town has become more accepting. Alot of the adults have come out and admitted they've been gay for a long time, plus alot of people's children turned out to be gay so no one really hates on them in my town, it's just normal. I mean you have the occasional old white lady with a cane who will shake it at you if she sees you kissing another girl or something but they're sparse. Basically black church is like 30 minutes of reading and then out of nowhere, the pastor will start yelling and stomping, people will stand up and they'll start singing and dancing and then there's those big church hats and wigs flying everywhere....makes Church alot better lmao. Especially when you see that one group of black women moving to the aisles to basically go boogie wonderland. But black church is annoying (to stay on topic) because it lasts a whole lot longer, it's usually like 8 AM to 1 PM. |

Black churches are awesome. Really really awesome. I love the singing. I am annoyed by how long you have to be there though, just to stay on-topic.

Oh, but I am an atheist (even though I‘m baptized). I only go to the mass a couple times a year when I am REALLY bored (aka holifays) and even then I only do it because ater the mass, I often discuss various things in life with the priest (It‘s quite hard to find him at other times because he has 5 municipalities). He‘s one of the most intelligent people in our village (He speaks nine languages fluently and used to be a scientist...I know, he‘s made a weird job choice )It would be weird if I said I never was happy because I almost always am
