Agreed. The only reason some people favour feeding their reptiles live food instead of dead food is pure sadism, in my opinion.

Some animals will not accept dead food :) The king snakes at the local zoo had to be fed bred mice for this, as one of them let herself starve when presented with dead ones.

Thank you for the set, Azrael!

Almost every species kept as a household pet will accept dead prey. Unless you're keeping some rare wild species, you have no excuse.

I personally, however, feel if it needs live mammals as food, it shouldn't be kept as a pet.

Nevertheless if you watch everything and ensure the snake isn't harmed and the rodent doesn't suffer needlessly (and you're doing it out of necessity and not for entertainment) I'm not really opposed to it.

Rats and mice are as different as dogs and mice, really, as far as their behaviors and capabilities.

I don't agree with the live feeding of any mammal or bird to any other animal whether it's a puppy or a mouse.
What about feeding a giant panda to a Quetzalcoatlus? xD

Indeed, seems like TFR switched mice with rats, not you (I hadn't seen his comment, I'm sorry)
@TFR: It is not possible that a python has been mauled by a mouse. I even doubt smaller snakes can, but a python's 100% impossible ;)
Spoiler: click to toggle

This snake had to be put to sleep after being alone with a mouse in the same tank. Overnight.

I'm annoyed by the fact that practically no one came to trick-or-treat at my house tonight. Seriously, I was standing on the front porch with candy and all the trick-or-treaters walked right past me! The fact that I'm a hormone-fueled teenage boy must've led them to the conclusion that I was some kind of troublemaker, waiting to dump a box of candy all over their two-year-old daughter. That in general annoys me, the fact that anyone between the ages of 12 and 21 seen giving out candy or trick-or-treating on Halloween is automatically up to no good. When will adults learn that not all teens do drugs or have under-aged sex, we're just people like them, and it's rude to pretend I'm not there when I'm standing in plain sight offering free candy! :implode:

We weren't offering candy and I don't trick or treat anymore as I no longer agree with the holiday. When I'm older and me and James are on our own, we might give out candy when we have young children, but otherwise I don't think we'll do much other than have parties/dress up that evening and stay in.

I liked it more when it was Hallow's Eve and was respecting and remembering the dead not scaring people.

But many of these people were CLEARLY trick-or-treaters, as they had young children in costumes with bags of candy, yet those people just ignored me. Which I think is very rude!

I don't know why they ignored you.

Here in North Carolina, people would avoid our house because we're black and "black people are either ghetto or their big black men are rapists"! so they would be afraid to bring their kids up to the house unless we were in costumes and our skin couldn't be seen. It's pretty awful that racism still exists so openly here in the south but what can you do about it.

I went to my friend's house tonight to trick or treat, and we actually got quite a few trick-or-treaters before we even left. And while I majorly disagree with KM's philosophy on Halloween, I must admit that I'm shocked and repulsed that everyone is that blatantly racist. Thank God I live in the liberal part of Utah, a state that's absolutely flooded with overreligious lunatics. Also, there's a thing going around in some states where kids are only allowed to go trick-or-treating from 6:00-8:00. Just.....why? Why would you even need to make a law about that?

Well, Diwali or the festival of Lights are starting here. Halloween is been overlooked by the excitement of Diwali and Kali Puja ( Puja means worship and Kali is a goddess) !

So agree.

Stupid judgmental people. >:(
Stupid society family shopping rules. >:(

Rules for shopping with your mum if your a girl:

You cannot go shopping with your mum between the ages of 15-19. 20s ify but it's safe not to.
You can always go shopping if your mum looks over 60
Or she and you are super hot.
Rules for shopping with your mum if your a boy:

Don't

Rules for shopping with your mum if your her husband:

Only go if there's some sort of special occasion.
You must go to lunch as well.
You must look unhappy about it, or just squint.
Or if your super hot you can look like your with the love of your life and walk down the street holding hands. You must wear shades if it's sunny.

I think there sort of true. This is of course for your heterosexual couple. Sorry others, :P

I just go anyway. my mums so cool (x .

Why are teenagers always picked on? Just because most teenagers are BSHs doesn't mean we all are. You practically can't go anywhere without being judged, by tens and adults. "you can't go on a bush walk, tens don't do stuff like that".
