We learned about fossilization, and our techers are all great, and the only "error" there was happened in an exercise where there was a fossil of a Dimetrodon along with a sentence asking you to draw the environment of "this Brazilian Dinosaur's" fossil. Needless to say I stated that the skeleton on the picture did not belong to a Brazilian Dinosaur, rather to the Mammal-like Reptile Dimetrodon. However, when we learnt about time periods and we had to make a timeline drawing we were very unfairly analysed (The teacher hated me and I hated him back then),I made a timeline that spanned from the Big Bang to 2011 (When we made the timeline) and got a C+ because "the drawing wa snot very well made", well sure, the lines were atrocious and thewriting not the best, but the drawings were fine, excluding the fact that we used glued-on pictures, which were asked to be put on, and of course forgetting about the tiny detail that our timeline measured 14 billion years... And we got a C+, whille the girls who only included 6 topics in their timeline, who drawed a Pteranodon with a Rhamphrhyncid tail and talked about "Tribolites" got A- (The teacher also favored girls, A LOT)... I DESERVED A-! My group and I were the ones who included the formation and separation of Pangaea, Tiktaalik roseae and the "rhinoraffes"! We deserved those points! Not the stupid "well done" "Tribolites"!

Y U HATE TRILOBITES TRILOBITES ARE EPIC Unfortunately girls favour is very widespread these times. In Poland we haven't problems with prehistory, but it's because we aren't learning about prehistory here at all.And "correcting teacher" is mythical here, it's just: teacher knows better than you!Or even worse, happened to me few times: ,,I know, it's false according to newer science, but at final tests they don't care about your knowledge, but about the school book" Edited by Swimming Spaghetti Monster, Dec 4 2013, 05:09 PM.

I had about 1 lesson about it in gymnasium's biology classes and ~2-3 about general geology and history of the planet on Geography in the lyceum, can't recall if biology had more than 1 lesson on evolution in past, though evolution and similar topics were in fact adressed quite nicely. |

We also did a timeline in my geography class last year. Mine spanned from 4 billion years ago to the present day, and for it I drew a quilled Triceratops, a feathered Rexy, a furry Geosternbergia, and (though this one was purely speculation of mine) a Dimetrodon with mammalian whiskers. The teacher probably thought I was just being sloppy with my drawings.

Evolution's not taught here. It's just ignored completely. And I never had any lessons on prehistory at all, we didn't even touch upon it. |

One of my school mates was even talking about how few dinosaur movies there were outside of Jurassic Park and The Land Before Time. There are TONS more, just because those two are the only ones they've seen doesn't mean they are the only ones that exist.

My school was better with it, we had a mini evolution course a few years ago, it was good and most people in my grade like my videos but i have o keep the amount of dinotalk down, cause i accidneltly made them sick of it. I think this conversion should continue in the paleo section. but I am going to the WWD film with a group of mates. and before you continue to bash on the film's talking dinos remember this. 1: the talking scenes so far make sense with the time, xenofiction kind of, and they're funny 2: FEATHERED DINOS IN A MAINSTREAM MOVIE, well feathered ones too. 3: it looks like to be well made. Also David peters once illustrated a book on raptors, with a scaly Archeopteryx http://babbletrish.blogspot.com.au/2011/04/so-close-yet-so-far-away-lets-read.html |

I remember doing a timeline last year. My group got a C (or was it C+?) because we were missing labels of billions of years ago. AND I HAND DREW THESE PICTURES, AND EVEN GAVE TRICERATOPS QUILLS (I think). One of the group mates didn't do ANYTHING. At least my science teacher was nice enough to let us know why we got our grade and offered to lower the kid's grade, though my partner and I forgot to do so. Oh well. |

My science teacher is also against zoos, for reasons that I don't think are valid, but that's probably a bit off-topic. |

We haven't learnt anything yet in science about dinos....a little on evolution.....but I'm pretty sure that they won't have any troubles teaching it if they want to. Maybe we'll learn later. I remember learning heaps in school about dinos, year 2 I think.
