Sexism is unacceptable. Being denied service, I severely dislike those people who say "only women can get raped" and other shizz, when in reality, even men get abused and raped...
Only imbeciles claim that women are the only gender to be sexually assaulted. It is not, however, incorrect to say that women are much more likely to be the victims of sexual assault (which explains why there are many more services/support groups for women, as opposed to men).

It's an unfortunate side-effect of most cultures that the masculine principles applied to men demand that--in most cases--emotions remain unexpressed, and need to be "gotten over" rather than dealt with in a healthy manner.

The internet is pretty good at filling in the gaps real-world organizations leave, especially for marginalized groups, like male rape/sexual assault victims.

I have a very good friend who was viciously abused as a child by his foster brother. It took him a long, long time to disclose his abuse to anyone, and he found himself in the same situation posed in that meme... He couldn't find anywhere to really go to, in a group setting, to discuss the feelings he was finally dealing with. Most child abuse support groups cater to children, and he wasn't comfortable (as a grown man) showing up there. We finally found him a support group online that helped a lot. It was men-only, aside from some sections of the forum that supportive friends and family could visit to offer advice and encouragement. He was active there for quite some time, but eventually started participating in destructive behavior counter to everything he had been told to do/not to do. I was getting so frustrated and angry with him, I had to step away as a friend... All I did was yell at him, and that wasn't helpful. Needless to say, his flirtation with disaster bore fruit, and after alienating all of his friends, he ended up back in the hospital after his perp beat the unholy hell out of him (my friend was going to see him regularly "to talk" about what happened when they were kids, and as we all predicted, it blew up in his face).

Anyway... yes, sexism is bad, regardless of which sex is being persecuted or made to feel insignificant.

Annoyance for today? Not getting nearly enough sleep after staying up too long to finish my aviary contest submission. My eyes hurt from staring at the computer screen... ugh.

You will respect my authoratah.

Is sentimental about the time when I couldn't imagine people solely living off pre-packaged heat and go food. :)

I was reminded of this while watching Hughs River Cottage series where he gets people who do this and stuff and gets them to eat things like greens and kill and eat one of his chickens.

Pull my finger!

Can't have Oreos for awhile, because whatever oil is used in the creme or something comes from plantations in Cameroon, and is killing chimps.

And I'm addicted to Oreos... :'(

I'm boycotting Oreos because the oil used in the creme or something is supporting the poaching of chimpanzees in the Cameroon...

The fact that I can't stop coughing, and haven't been able to stop for nearly a week and a half. I'm starting to think there's something wrong with me.

Umm. I suggest you go to the doctor. It might have some relating to your heart or lungs, as far as I know.

Yeah, my parents think it might be bronchitis, in which case I'll have to go to the doctor at some point for an antibiotic. I've already missed two weeks of school so I hope they'll arrange an appointment before I have too much work to catch up on.
