I believe this is applicable at this point, though I admittedly don't know how accurate it is:

On topic, MOTHS SOMEHOW SNEAKING INTO MY ROOM! THEY'RE EVIL!
Those are satirical speculations from All Yesterdays, quite possibly the best paleo-art book ever made. xD

This random buzzing/whirring/chirping in my right ear when I lay down.

It's only if I lay down and sounds like the buzzing of a pc, the whirring of a cd and a cricket constantly chirping all at once

Still, science fiction can be scientific in only the loosest sense of the word and still be science fiction. :P

true, but I still feel that the original intentions of the genre should be upheld to some extent

things like Sharknado should really not be lumped under the same category as things like StarWars

Fiction:
Quote:

literature in the form of prose, especially novels, that describes imaginary events and people.

Fiction:
Quote:

something that is invented or untrue.

Science Fiction:
Quote:

Fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets.

Just throwing out the Oxford Dictionary definitions for reference on this debate.

Science Fiction is definitely a sub-genre of fiction, the two are definitely not mutually exclusive IMO. But the science involved doesn't need to be incredibly accurate. Furthermore Sci-Fi is an exceptionally broad subject with many subgenres

Also unrelated, smashing my elbow getting up from laying down DX

And then getting up to find my shoulder all tensed up and hurting like heck

another point of science fiction (originally) was to try and maintain some degree of plausibility, but that bit seems to have worked its way out of the genres defining characteristics over the decades

The fact that I waste away entire days just lying in bed and/or sitting around doing nothing, when I feel like I should be doing something to entertain myself. Heck, my summer vacation is more than halfway over and I've barely done anything with it.

trisdino, you can feel more justified about your anger now

admin

not tris

How was that not civil? I simply thanked Stargatedalek for backing me up ???.

Wait, changing the title of a thread back counts as "defiance"?

No, I didn't say that.

same "not tris"

And honestly it's a little ridiculous to ban someone for that (I don't mean this as an insult to you, but I'm sorry that's what I think). Besides there is nothing about defiance in the forum rules.

Obviously you should do as the moderators ask on the forum. Please, this is wasting my time, and your accusation is an insult. When a sentence contains "I don't mean this as an insult but...", then an insult surely follows. I'm giving you a 24 hour time out for you to gather your thoughts.

if I were in your position tris, I would feel rather justified about now
honestly if I were in your position I'd get myself a proxy and go right back under a new username, because the ban was completely unmerited and redundant
