Has anyone else living in eastern North America experienced an unusually mild winter? Normally February is the coldest/snowiest month here but it hasn't snowed once and has been above zero since about mid-January. Plus, I only recall needing to shovel the driveway once this winter whereas normally we need to do it at least a few times a month.

NANI?! "Lion King" remake without "Be Prepared"?! Welp, guess I'll wait for it to come on DVD before seeing it.

I was able to go outside in a t-shirt today. It was that warm. Why on Earth are our winters so warm!?! As someone originally from a state that got ACTUAL SNOW in the winter, I was shocked when it got to be my first winter in the East Coast and we didn't have snow until late January. I thought the seasons had turned upside down!

@Burns - The fact that alot of my classmates make 'cousin' jokes is why I'm used to that.

@magpie - I'm glad to hear that really. I'm stuck on one side of WV, so I really don't know about the rest. There are great people here, but its rare in my town to see some (or at least from my school.)

I hear Australia has attractive men. Could just be a rumor though.

:3
Can confirm it's just a rumor they've been spreading to bait tourists.

When I went I spent a week in Morgantown (well, just outside it) and then another in the Canaan Valley. Like I said, both areas are beautiful. One guy I met in the former told me that West Virginia has an inferiority complex--considering the reputation it has and the economic troubles it's been experiencing, one can see why, but no one should feel like they live in a worthless or backwater state. Idk if you're in a city, but bad people tend to concentrate there.

To an outsider, there are a maximum of seven states divided into two categories :

1) Well-known :
- California
- Texas
- New York (mainly for the namesake city)
- Florida

2) Personal choice :
- Wyoming
- Colorado
- Oregon

Oh, that makes sense. I guess that means "we definitely don't eat spiders" was a rumor too? >_> <_<

Again we can't really bring in tourists if we don't do something to keep the spider population down.

How about we genetic engineer some type of cute cuddly animal that eats only spiders?

Those already exist, they're called cane toads and there is a giant conspiracy to kill all of them. The spiders have business ties in government.

So I've been in Texas for two days and I can confirm that this place is awesome. No armadillos as of yet, but I saw a Cardinal, a Mockingbird and I found a little baby Green Anole in a bush yesterday. Also the climate is amazing and the people I've met are simply wonderful.
