Murdock, Mowgli actually didn't kill anyone: he promised that to Hathi because he was already horrified by the massacre he did when humans hunted him. they just destroyed the village and forced the people to leave.

Well to be fair Furka, what was the hope for that village's survival with their horses and other food supplies killed, their village razed to the ground and many people likely wounded. Though I concede your point that he didn't kill anyone directly, they probably didn't exactly last long afterwards.

Then again they did torture Mowgli's adopted family as sorcerers so it's hard to feel that much sympathy for them

Why would anyone write these stories! :(

Seriously - these are horrible endings. Like what was even the point of the original Fox and The Hound if ALL OF THEM DIE?

I did warn you

But the thing that gets me, dark fiction like that can be great and well written, but who thought it was a good idea to make these into kids movies, and more importantly, how on earth did they pull off turning so many messed up stories into kids movies?

As for Fox and Hound, I dunno what the point of the novel was, it wasn't really to represent anything, it just was a story culminating in the death of every major character, in fact finalizing on the unbearably depressing scene of Copper about to be shot yet trusting his owner to the last moments

Still at least the Disney movie had a point to it and a much better ending
