It wasn't really the paleontology-related inaccuracies that bothered me, but rather the truly glaring issues such as advanced civilizations and relatively modern technology existing in the late Pleistocene. |

Yeah, but Smilodons never got that big in real life, nor were they ever native to Africa. In real life the genus was lion-sized and was native only to the Americas. It was still a nice depiction in terms of visual appearance, however. |

Yeah and the terror birds weren't either native to Africa. I first thought it was set in North/ South america. |

The only animals that weren't out of place were the woolly mammoths, but even they had the issue of being nearly indricothere-sized. |
