Are there trout in your area? If there are, you should try fishing them, they never have parasites.

trouts can be found only in sportfishing lakes, and only in winter because during summer the temperatures are too high for them to survive in the ponds.
But I rarely eat them, because sea fish tastes a lot better and I don't have to pay for it.

I especially don't understand the madness over the carp meat in my country when the christmas season hits. Carp meat tastes, to me, most of the time, awful. I guess the power of 'tradition' is too strong.

Most Cyprinidae with a few exceptions (Tench, maybe Barbel) taste aweful and have spine-rich flesh.
Yet it seems like eastern Europe countries love them, to the point here you often see people from those countries filling nets and bowls with crucian carps and breams.

Got the commonest chelonian ever - red-eared slider female, about 17 centimeters long. 6th specimen of this taxon in my life.
This means a night without sleeping, have to clean the girl from soft tissues. She has 2 fully-developed eggs inside and lot of developing ones.

Rat snake is love... Rat snake is life

If you are in Thailand, you will find out that our native Silver Barb and Tinfoil Barb are the exception too. They have very good taste, both meat and roes.

But still, they have lot of spines in the meat.

If you want spiny, try milkfish.

Every bite is a mouthful of spines, yum yum~

Back from skiing.
You haven't known pain if you haven't tried to take a piss while it's -15°C.
