trevelynh: I got the reflection removed, but it looked perfectly the same ... ( and I still not know how to remove it *facepalm*) MrGorsh: I fear the nostrils were forgotten, but I am very sure it has ears. ( I will add them later ) |

I wasn't dead, asleep or sick the last two weeks and couldn't update because of this. No, in fact I was working on a new pack. You might know my series "Walking in Prehistory" ( if not, go ahead and check out Ingame Photography ). I decided to make a series of packs under this label as well. I will go for some of the most needed prehistoric animals first. And unlike you think that are not dinosaurs, but in fact mammals: the first pack is Giraffoidea, including 5 extinct animals from the families Climacoceratidae, Antilocapridae and Giraffidae:![]() I hope you like it ![]() The pack is finished and will be released by Sunday. I will start with the next part soon, it will feature something equally interesting and needed as Giraffoids : antelopes. |

They look nice, though some of them are heavily moose-like

Thank you, I know that they are moose like. They were in fact inspired by the moose reconstructions. IIRC only the skulls were found of the Sivatherids and in my opinion the long necks of the newer reconstruction don't really support such oversized structures.

Actually, their shoulders were responsible for supporting the neck muscles required to lift those heads, so I'd say those pesky scientists are most probably right here, considering they revised that outdated trend

I like them, but I agree about them being "moose like". |

These models are a fairly accurate restoration of what sivatheres looked like, plus they're a fairly large animal and most likely dangerous so this version is also accurate in those terms. Also the only ones that look moose like are the siva and brama. Anyways I'm fairly excited about the next pack. Edited by davidy12, Jul 26 2013, 03:07 PM.

In fact I have never seen this picture before and it is far from accurate. I am definitely guilty of not following the modern day tend on them. I know the shoulders are used to hold the head, but I think I still prefer the moose-like type. |
