There's a fine line between liking a particular artwork and following scientific reconstructions ;) Considering that we don't have it's body, assuming that it obligatory couldn't have giraffid build and should be restored with outdated ways is a bit unfair, don't you think? :P This for example is a nice reconstruction with more upright neck, but still a powerful body ;)

Well, that could be possible. I might remesh it on a later date, since I plan to make a second Giraffoid pack on a later date ( possibly end of the holidays ) since I have only scratched on the top of this amazing group. Nevertheless this first version will feature the more moose like version since remaking them would take time I would prefer to spend on antelopes instead.

originally, one_piece

already saw this before other people :P . and i've been waiting for this to be revealed to tell you this, the Siva's skin looks way too bland. you should use references like this:

also, it's not visible in the render but you should spend some more efforts in the mouths, at this point you only paint them with pink and red.
even so, i must say your skinning skills have improved dramatically. and this is a very nice looking pack

Trust me OP I've tested them and they're much more detailed then you think. ;)

Could the Bramatherium have a little more color? the gray makes it look like the Sivatherium

I agree on that they should be more colourful.

OK, first, thank you, for backstabbing me. I totally see that it was necessary to wait till I released it to tell me when you have seen it for roughly two weeks before that time.

I know about the mouth, I am awful at making mouths since there are no good pictures of mammal ones and so I can not photosource or even texture them.

It isn't even necessary since the only time you really could see into the mouth is when it calls ( with head over the viewer ) and when it eats ( with the mouth roughly 10 cm above ground ).

And then last but not least: I will not change the colours. Why not ? Because I had references for them that couldn't be more fitting. For me the Sivatherium is an aggressive, massive herbivore with a behaviour similar to the African Buffalo. Because of that I photosourced it from an African buffalo.
The Bramatherium is the smaller, Asian, less aggressive relative of Sivatherium. Because of that I photsourced t from the Asian Buffalo.

And you definitely must have found a technique to photosource from animals with big, fat writing across their sides. Amazing thing, I haven't found something like that.

About way too bland. Please ask that the buffalo I photosourced it from.

And I can say the same thing I always say in these situations: you don't have t download it if you don't like it ( not that anyone of you would ever use it anyway ) and can instead wait for designers you deify to make it.

Very nice work Philly! I see you based it off a Thompson's gazelle.

These are really cool, Philly. But I'm curious... why are you restricting your creative license to what you can photosource? Just create one layer for textures, then create a new layer for colors beneath your textures... Then you can color/pattern it however you like, without the need to photosource anything. That would open up a whole new outlet for your creativity.

Anyway... keep up the great work. These packs look great and I'm glad someone is paying attention to extinct mammals, especially the extinct mammals that don't get a whole lot of attention :)

Well, go back some pages and you'll see my try on that. It simply doesn't look good. as long as I can photosource from creatures I can do a much better thing. But nevertheless thank you.
