Everybody is focused on dinosaurs nobody really focuses on Paleozoic animals. I love the skin on him though!

I agree. We need more Paleozoic animals, and not just the typical Arthropleura, Meganeura, and Pulmonoscorpius that every Prehistoric Park fanboy/girl wets themselves over.

But I digress. The model looks wonderful and is a nice change of pace from Mesozoic fauna.

It took a while since school is crap, but I am back. For those who have seen the Brontoscorpio on my DeviantArt page, I still had no time to animate (or even find the files after my break ) it, so it will atke a while till it is ready to be released. For the meantime I have another critter I am working on.

[Full Resolution]

(As you might see I found out how to properly render stuff, so higher quality pictures, but I'm still experimenting hence the weird lines on the lower part of the head construct)

I first wanted to do a Schinderhannes, one of my personal favourites ( and I will most likely still do one ), but instead I went for this beautiful critter. Both are related to Anomalocaris, but considerably smaller and less known.
Hurdia itself apparently was a quite successful animal as its fossils were found all over the world. This makes it a quite probable animal for a prehistoric aquarium to keep/obtain.
The model has 1199 verticles and is thus a bit big for a 20cm animal. However the reason for the high amount of verticles is first and foremost the weird head construct and secondly the fact that ZT2 ( with the current scaling ) is not very good for animals of that size. Because of that I will probably scale the ingame version up to between 50 cm and a whole meter in length to make it properly visible. Since Anomalocaris grew to even bigger sizes, I doubt that it is too unrealistic. For those who dislike this, they can easily edit the scale to a smaller size.
The Hurdia will get a new animation/bone set for sure, regarding more advanced behaviour I am unsure. If anyone of you has an idea regarding possible behaviour it could show, feel free to post it here.

I hope you like it.
