Rubeosaurus ovatus
Project Update 1

Current Progress:
Currently I have finished the basic structure of the model. I actually started to model the head a while back, but added the body and legs on Thursday. I have already added most of the parts of the model (including all spikes, tongue , etc.), however the main thing missing are details on both head and body, though I will get to that next.

I based the head of the fossils/reconstructions that I could find, but I couldn't find any good reference images on the body. However as Rubeosaurus was related relatively closely to Pachyrhinosaurus, so I based the body of it instead.

Specifics:
4026 verticles, main LOD planned to have around 4500 (without quills)

Next steps:
Next I am going to add some more details, as I wrote, mostly large scutes and wrinkles on the body, as well as more detailed head structures. After that I am going to add the quills on the body, neck and tail. But before I can do that, I would like you tell me what you think and if you possibly notice any mistakes I made.

Note:
I intend to post updates whenever I do something, not just when I finish the full animal, simply because I want to give you an exact overview over the progress that I make, as -sadly- it will not be very fast.

Hmm, so far it does not look like the 4000 verts are placed very efficiently, but that's hard to tell without a wire.

I know, that has several reasons. As usual toes are real verticle sponges and the frill and spikes are also really scourging. There are also still a lot of convenience verticles that increase the count as well, just make sections more smoothed out and make adjustments easier. Those will be removed in the end, but while the model is still work in progress I still require them.
Thirdly there are also a lot of verticles for head detail already in place, but I just haven't actually started readjusting them to actually stand out.
