First of all I would like to compliment you on your return ! You have done a great work on the Rubeosaurus, although that is not yet finished I see that your model has many potencial ! Now as your Rubeo is being improved I would like to bring some technical points on the body anatomy that will allow you to improve it. Indeed the body of rubeosaurus is quite close to that of a Pachyrhinosaurus, so for the improvement of the body I guess you should based on some Pachyrhino reference. It there's one point that bothers me slightly, this concerns the positon of the arms and legs. First for the Side view, I think they are too much like a straight beam. Yet Pachyrhinosaurus like many other large ceratopsian have arms and legs slightly curving. And part of the shoulders and triceps should be much lower position in whatever you have it designed, usually they are pretty close to the base of the neck. I will show you a schema to make it easier to understand my argument : ![]() The "Neon green" Part is the position in which you have designed the Rubeo, and the red part is the position in which should be your Rubeo. The last tip I can give you is to ensure that the portion of the biceps that go to the elbow should be pointed a bit more to the outside, the same goes for the legs should also pointed slightly outwards. I hope you can fix this, otherwise from these small detail... Good Job !

I think he straightened the legs out so he could rig it to triceratops nodes. Most animals rigged to those nodes have their legs straight, but I could be wrong, though. ![]() Welcome back, philly! I missed you a lot, man. Awesome ceratopsian, I love the level of detail.

Not necessarily, I take for example UT2's Pachyrhinosaurus (The Last Released). The model is very well rigged for both arms and legs have exactly the same position that I mentioned, so I think Philly is more than able to do the same ![]() |

Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Actually I intend to make a new bone and animation set for the Rubeosaurus. The reason I made the legs straight is that I used Scott Hartman's Pachyrhinosaurus skeletal as a reference which has the legs in moving positions, so I straightened them out after I modelled them accordingly. It won't really make that much of a difference in the end, as the new animations will have a more natural stance as a basis. |

Good to hear from you again Philly (quick question about your Prenocephalie [or however you spell it) did it ever get an update, because the one in the downloads section acts like an a statue to me [it moves for a second then freezes, plus it doesn't have the faded square gride ground pattern when placing it, it has the triangle quarter grid you get for certain scenery like the lamp posts], and if you did update it where might one find the updated link? (PS, Don't mean to bother you like this but I feel that the one in the download section should be replaced with the fixed one, especially for newer members who don't follow project topics very well [no offense to them]). |

Rubeosaurus ovatus Project Update 2 Current Progress: I have made the changes Mr.Samosaurus suggested, including making the legs bent to look more natural. I have added detail to the head and body. I decided against modelling the body scutes I first intended to do as the nose thorns I included already caused a considerable rise in verticles and repeating the process over and over again would have caused the verticles to skyrocket. Instead I decided to reduce the overall verticle count, but nonetheless it is still quite high as the spikes and the fat wrinkles took a considerable toll on the numbers. ![]() Specifics: 3882 verticles including quills, 56 bones including nodes Next steps: Next I'm gong to rig the model to the new bones. After that I plan to start with the skin in order to make it easier to afterwards animate it. @Auronoi-Cheiftain: It is for sure an animation problem, but I can't fix it as it is most likely local and you simply lack a download required. Try Artiodactyla or European Expeditions, I used one of those as basis, but I don't remember which one. As you might realize I have gathered a shockingly large amount of unreleased projects (both PU and unfinished). While I still work on the Rubeosaurus, I realized that I still need to recall a lot for designing, after all I haven't done most parts for almost a year, so I decided to finish up some of my old projects of mine. I won't edit the finished parts, but I will make the additional required portions to make them releasable. Most old projects will be related to the Triassic as I made most PU projects with the intention of a S&T "Triassic Park". I already uploaded the first three of them to the Download section:

Rubeosaurus ovatus Project Update 3 Current Progress: I have now "finished" the skin. I still haven't decided how the quills will look, so they are obviously not finished yet, but I will decide on that once I have it ingame. The colouration isn't really based on anything, but I based the textures of Centrosaurus. Overall I am quite pleased with how the skin turned out. ![]() Next steps: Later I intend to do some basic coding for some first animations to test them out ingame. Note: It took quite a while to skin this animal and I still had tests, that's why it took so long for an update, sorry. Next update will hopefully come sooner as well as some of new old stuff. Nevertheless I hope you like the progress. |

What an absolutely gorgeous ceratopisan Philly, worth the every minute it took. Interesting choice on the horn textures, are they based on deer antlers or something else? |
