Great, I like those speculative skin parts. They make the animal really look better.

It looks really interesting indeed. I think is a nice addition, even if is not 100% acurate or if is not evidence about it. The only things that matters is that makes your model look great and it could be possible that hey have them so i like it. Really nice jov on this one Sam. And i wonder what is the big thing comming?

Well, this Diplocaulus looks really great, even better than your first one. And I gotta say, the incorporation of the skin flaps is an interesting idea, somehow it really fits the animal. ^^ |

I like the idea and the skin looks great too. Another possibility would be increased surface for oxygen absorbing, like that titicaca frog.

Actually OS, the U-of-M agrees with your speculation so it is actually a valid theory. Awesome diplocaulus BTW! Could you maybe extend the flaps though? Also, I recommend dolphin animations as the animal almost certainly swam by moving its body up & down. Edited by MarxRaptor, Oct 5 2013, 02:50 PM.

Believe me I've done research into its locomotion I know how it should moveAlso out of curiosity, why do you think it's a valid theory? The scientific definition of 'theory' is slightly different to everyday use. There is no evidence, no indication of skin flaps and no relatives have them, so how can it be a theory if it's entirely speculation?
