If an army of cats invaded your house what would you do?
That is an excellent question and certainly one that needs some thought... Obviously my first response would be to wonder how in the world this happened and why there are so many. I'm sure our dog would go full on hyper too. It would also depend on how fast they were moving towards me and how many there were. If there were a lot, I'd escape through my bedroom window upstairs. This'd lead me onto a plastic roofing for our outdoor entertainment area. From there, I'd be able to reach the safety of my dog who would be going so berserk that no cat would dare near her. If there were only a few, escape out the front should be easy. Slow moving cats would give me time to get to the kitchen where I could arm myself if needed. Calling some sort if pest-control service might be useful although I'm too baws for that... Oh and these cats are evil, yeah? xD

What sports you like the most and you hate the most?
Cricket and footy are my top two. I play cricket during summer but during winters, I'd say I prefer footy. If you don't know, footy is Aussie Rules Football and it's a game which originated in Victoria (my state) in the VFL league and spread to the whole of Australia in the AFL league. In recent times, there have been pushes towards showing the sport to places like PNG and New Zealand. Compared to other sports, it's most similar to rugby in that you tackle the guy who has the ball. There is no "armour" like American footy (except a mouthguard) which is more dangerous in some ways and less dangerous in others. Cricket is most similar to baseball but it requires more protection, the ball is harder and, rather than pitching, the ball is bowled (the "bowler" runs up and basically releases the ball overarm without bending his arm). In cricket, the ball is supposed to bounce once and rather than running bases, you run between ends of a pitch to score. You stay in until you get caught, bowled or run out. As for my least favourite... Well... I don't like soccer lol. Mainly because I suck at it and everyone can play it except me xD I just like being able to use my hands in sport - throwing, catching, marking, dropping the ball onto my foot... etc. I also find soccer generally pretty boring x) I probably hate some other sports more but soccer is the obvious one at the moment - probably cos we did it for PE today -,-

What was the most awkward moment you had in the community?
Definitely when Susan found out I had a crush on her. It was after dinner where I am, I believe, and I was on MSN in a group chat with Jasper and Susan. Basically, a few hours earlier I had admitted to Jasper that I liked Susan. He had guessed it because a lot of my discussions with him were about her lol. Anyway, at the time, he was also crushing on her and about an hour or so before the group chat, Jasper had told Susan. It was extremely obvious to me and everyone knew at the time but for Susan it was a shock. Anyway, during this group chat we had, Jasper suddenly started another chat with just me and he asked whether he could tell Susan that I have a crush too. At first I didn't want him to but he did anyway. I can't remember if that was because I eventually gave in or he just felt like it lol xD So Susan was even more shocked about this because apparently I wasn't showing any signs at all of feeling that way about her until then. She opened a separate chat with just me to see if it was true and apparently my response was, "If I say yes, can we still at least be friends?" Yeah, awkward because I was worried it'd ruin our friendship and awkward because I wasn't even the one to say I liked her at first :')

FUN FACT: Susan knows about 18 people (community and real life) who had crushes on her.

How is it like living is a such a diverse country?
Well I don't know... Normal I guess. I mean, Australia's pretty huge so it's no wonder there's a lot of diversity. Oh and if you're thinking "what? I thought Australia was desert?" No... In fact almost no one even lives in the desert parts of Australia and even the deserts are pretty diverse in themselves... I've never actually been to the desert part of Australia o.o Right where I am, it's suburban but this area was originally forested - temperate rainforest I believe it's called. I guess it's kinda special being in such an awesome country though :)

What future job would you like ?
I've always dreamed of working at a zoo. More specifically, owning a zoo (which, in my idea of a dream job, would include designing exhibits). You may know that I went on work experience at a small country zoo just over a month ago and the report for the work I did was positive so that's great :D I also plan on doing some volunteering work at another small zoo later this month. I plan on going to uni to do the "Bachelor of Science" course in which I hope to major in zoology. But even if I never get my dream job, I'm happy so long as I get to work at a zoo, or even if I just get to work around animals.

What do you feel is your greatest feature? No mentioning Susan on your arm.
Definitely Susan on m... Never mind. Um... Lol I always feel so awkward talking about what I'm good at because I prefer to be modest and not boast myself up too much. Even when I am being arrogant, it's usually as a joke... But I guess I'd have to say... Um I don't know xD My classmates would say my intelligence but I wouldn't... I'm too lazy to be intelligent usually. I guess drawing might be up there... But I'm not even that good at drawing xD I'm still trying to improve xP I'll just say my epic Hawthorn Hawks beanie-scarf cos that thing makes me look amazing and it is simply an awesome feature.

What is your favorite thing to do on a sunny day?
Sunny winter's day: Play footy outside - preferably some competitive sort of game with friends or family.
Sunny summer's day: Play cricket outside - either with my friends or with family.
Sunny any day: SUSSSSSAAANNNNNN <3 <3

What is your favorite Expansion pack ever?
If you mean original expansions, I really don't know. I loved ES and AA because of the animals (I like land mammals) but then I loved the features in MM and EA. Probably EA overall because it had so many new features and tons of animals. If you meant user-made expansions, then it'd probably be Carnivora or Artiodactyla. I also loved Artifex's packs, IE and AN, when I first found them.

Why you no have Volcanoes? Are Volcanoes afraid of Australia?
Correct Answer: After hearing about all our deadly creatures and that 9 of the world's 10 most dangerous snakes were found in Australia, the volcanoes fled in terror, deciding to disturb places less scary.
Technically Correct Answer: We actually do have volcanoes. In fact, I've been inside one! It just so happens that the volcanoes we have are extinct and forested, being home to a lot of wildlife rather than being dangerous.
Scientifically Correct Answer: Most volcanoes are formed on the boundaries two tectonic plates. This is because as pressure builds up under the plates, it forces lava to escape between the tectonic plates and create a volcano. As Australia is on the centre of a tectonic plate, there are no active volcanoes here.

Do you plan on going to college in the US or Susan in Australia?
As far as we know at the moment, I'll be doing "college" (we call it university) here and she'll be doing college there. I think after college, she plans on moving here but it really depends on what's most convenient at that time. If I have to or if it's easier OR if I get a job opportunity in America, that's where I'm headed :)

Do you like pickles?
Not specifically but I've eaten worse things. Lol

You are the most interesting man in the world. You don't always drink Juice. But when you do, you drink Juicy Juice.
IKR?

If you could change one thing about yourself (personality-wise), what would it be? Why?
Hmmm... That's a difficult question. Honestly, I do see heaps of things I don't like about my personality... But then again, I'd never really want to change it. I'm pretty much content with who I am right now :) Actually, wait... Laziness. Definitely my laziness. If I weren't so lazy, I could get a lot further in life and I know that. I just, can't be bothered... x)

What kind of person do you naturally tend to clash with based off your personality and theirs?
I don't generally feel like I clash with others and I certainly don't get as annoyed at people as others seem to. For most people, I can have at least some level of friendship with them :) So how will I do this? I guess I'll think of the people who annoy me most and explain the qualities I dislike...
1) Someone who lies, doesn't care that they do and is lazy like me but they get away with doing nothing. This person also appears to have little idea what they're saying ever. I guess this personality isn't so much one I clash with but it makes me face-palm.
2) Someone who is overly opinionated and loud and doesn't know when to be quiet. This person also seems to repeat all the best come backs and comments I make which takes away from the awesomeness I originally shared.
3) Someone who is so arrogant that they seem to have something against everyone else and consider them self the only important thing in the world. This person is willing to attack others behind that person's back with their own friends rather than keep it to them self.

Is there a hobby you wish you could do but can't afford?
Playing footy for a team is one but that's not to do with cost - it's the risk involved and fitness required that stop me from that. One that's cost related might be keeping more animals lol... Like having a collection of reptiles, birds, tropical fish or something :3 Otherwise, I'd just like to have better equipment for my current hobbies.

Why do you collect animal figures?
I don't really know lol. I guess there's a few things... My best friend collected Schleich, I liked animals, I grew up with HEAPS of plastic animal toys and I was given a group of five to start it off. I guess it's like with any collection - at first you're interested in that thing, then you want to get more and more of that and it becomes enough that you don't want to sell it and you just want to keep expanding. I started around 2005/2006. My first five animals were a baby zebra, a baby lion, a baby chimp, a baby giraffe and a baby panda I think. My brother gave them to me for my birthday. When my friend showed me his collection (70 or so animals) I decided to collect too. Every Christmas and birthday, it was what I wanted most. I got practically every new wildlife model since I started collecting and now I have about 200 models :)

Who are the top 5 people in the community, past of present, that have impacted you the most?
Susan - Pretty obvious, isn't it? She made me fall in love! She also influenced me to improve my graphics design, drawing, painting... All kinds of art! In fact, pretty much everything I'm any good at, she influenced me to improve. Oh and she influenced me to improve how I look so I'd look better for her :)

CRG - One of my very first friends in the community, CRG was always someone I looked up to. I think without him, I wouldn't have made it where I am now in the community. Thanks, buddy! :D

OkapiSnowlio - My very first friend in the community and someone who really kept me in the community at first. I think without him, I really wouldn't have been so involved or so much a part of this community.

Josh - This guy is a huge inspiration for me all the time! I mean, he always has a positive view on things and the way he views life is very inspiring. If there was anyone in this community that I'd want to be more like, Josh'd be that person :)

Waldo - Probably the main reason I'm any good at graphics design today. He didn't teach me but when I saw his powerpoint art, I figured out how it worked and I was able to use that to make some pretty cool stuff :3 Ironically, Susan was the one who taught Waldo I believe :P

What do you think is the biggest problem faced by the Zoo Tycoon community right now?
I'd say the fact that it's sorta being divided into groups and it's lost its community feel. Nowadays, we sort of see like a lot of members being separated and singled out. It's like some people feel that they are so important in terms of the community and they feel others aren't. I'd say this is causing tension... People don't seem as welcoming or excited to be a part of the community. I think the community has also lost a lot of activity as the fan base of Zoo Tycoon 2 drops.

Australia could be best compared to ___?
North Korea :D

What sets Australia apart from other countries the most in your opinion?
Oceans and seas... The Indian Ocean separates us from Africa, the Southern Ocean separates us from Antarctica, the Pacific Ocean separates us from America and Asia and so on... :3

I know you want to own/work at a zoo when you're older, but if that were to not work out, do you have a backup plan?
I'd aim for something else in the "working with animals" field but if that weren't possible, I'd head for art - maybe graphics design or something. If that weren't possible, I'd probably try Primary School teaching. If that weren't possible, I'd go for ice-cream truck driver. If not that, I'd be an ice-cream truck driving assistant. It not, I'm sorry Susan but I'm broke :/

What is your dream home?
- multiple storeys
- a swimming pool with a spa that's actually warm
- an outdoor entertainment area with a BBQ, lots of space etc.
- fireplace definitely
- theatre room
- art studio thingeh for Susan and I
- four bedrooms
- portable shower
- a "reptile room"
- a walk-through aviary for parrots in the backyard
- a husky and german shepherd
- quality heating and cooling
- btw, I was joking about the portable shower
- tropical fish tank which can be viewed from both sides of a wall
- pet shark nvm
- large backyard
- anywhere suburban within half an hour of a beach and an hour of a city.
- with Susan <3

How did you begin drawing PowerPoint art?
At my computer using the program "Microsoft Powerpoint 2010".

If you were to learn another art form, what would it be and why?
The art of dancing... Or music. If music, it'd be drums or guitar or electric guitar. Only if it were to come to me just like that. I'm too lazy to practise :') And why? Well, I'd love to be able to dance with Susan and play songs for her not just sing them.

You're an incredible, funny, smart, talented guy who gets along well with almost everyone. I love you :3
Key word: Almost.
I LOVE YOU TOO <33333333

So... I decided to start writing some blog entries on the many, many, MANY stereotype ideas and myths people often have of Australians. I will include several topics, specifically the "average Australian", our wildlife, our climate and our language. I aim to point out both the flaws and truths in all these ideas.

The Average Australian
There are a bucketload of stereotypes for the average Australian, including both negative and positive ones. Here is the first of several to come:

» CONVICTS:
One stereotype of Australians I have heard a lot is that Australia is basically "Britain's prison island" where all the bad guys went and started breeding to make a "convict nation". On one site, I read this post about Australians:

"Aussies are rude and arrogant.I think it has something to do with their colonial past. They basically are Criminals and bad elements thrown out of The GREAT BRITAIN. So it's obvious if you know anything about Genetics then you will know that if you mix two criminals then a new badasss will be born. And this has been happening for god knows how many generations.Aussies are Insecure and Coward. That's what better describe an AUSSIE."

I seriously want to question this human being's idea of life and everything in it and I seriously hope he was only joking (but it was a huge failure of a joke if that was the case o_o). First of all, he (or she) is obviously starting off with an over-the-top extreme bias for Great Britain and against Australia. They then show their lack of knowledge on the topic of genetics by making the bold claim that basically your actions are passed on from generation to generation. I mean, if this were true, almost all older countries in the world would still be selling, buying and keeping slaves (slave-owners marry slave-owners and have slave-owning kids). Considering this is OBVIOUSLY not the case, none of his points really make any sense... But I have to commend him for making me want to laugh and for calling me a badasss! :')

The truth in this stereotype? Well, yes, some Australians have convict ancestry. In total, about 165,000 convicts were sent over to Australia. In fact, I have convict ancestry (dating back to about 1832 or something). However, many Australian convicts were sent over for ridiculous crimes. My convict ancestor, Samuel, was sent to Australia for trying to keep his family alive. He stole a gun and shot a chicken to feed his children and wife. Because of this, he was sentenced to about twleve years in Tasmania, however he stayed there and his descendants eventually moved to Victoria where I live now. If this somehow makes me a cowardly, insecure, arrogant (how do arrogant and insecure even match up together), rude criminal who was thrown out of Britain, then I am bloody proud to be one!

Danny that makes me mad. Maybe had my ancestors gotten to keep said chicken then ate it there genetics would have changed to keep them from having an allergy many generations later to chicken. Then I could eat chicken without getting sick.

xD

I had no idea people thought of that as Aussie's. I think of all Aussie's as hip cool people who are skinny or muscular and tanned with good athletic genes who do sports and work for a living or are extreme athletes for a living.

The Average Australian #2

» STEVE IRWIN:
The second stereotype I'm going to talk about is the "Steve Irwin" stereotype - khaki-clothed, crocodile-tackling blokes that say "Crikey" all the time in an over-the-top Australian accent.

Firstly, Steve Irwin was definitely an awesome Australian guy but the stereotype that he makes people think of is very much wrong. Australians rarely EVER wear khaki clothing - the only time I've ever worn khaki was when I was doing work experience at Halls Gap Zoo. In fact, khaki is probably only EVER seen in zookeeper uniforms and uniforms for other outdoor-type jobs, which would explain why Steve Irwin always wore khaki.

Secondly, we don't usually tackle crocodiles - I've only done it a few times before actually. Granted, both times it was a big blow-up one but I think it still counts :D. Obviously, assuming that people here love to tackle crocodiles is a ridiculous idea but the idea that we are rough and tough may not be so ridiculous to other people. Unfortunately, this is not true and just like other countries, we have our tough people and we have our not-so-tough people.

Finally, I don't think I've said Crikey for a few years... It's really not that common in Australia - at least, the parts where I live. The only people I have heard saying it frequently are much older than me and most of them grew up in the country. It's an unusual thing to say now, unless of course you are using it in reference to Steve.

So what is the truth behind this stereotype? Steve Irwin WAS an authentic Australian. He didn't ham up his accent or tackle crocodiles to try to give others the wrong idea of a typical Australian. But, Steve Irwin was certainly not your average Australian either. The people in this country are all very unique and he was just one of the many.
