Now I'm not a great photographer at all and my camera's only cheap but I do like taking pics every once in a while. These pics are made to show you the area I live in, not to show off my photography so much. A few days ago, I went to my backyard, the Dandenongs. Well the Dandenong Mountains are not exactly our backyard but it only takes half an hour from home to reach them. The scenery is beautiful and the main foliage is ferns and enormous mountain ashes (the tall gum trees). I didn't see much wildlife that day but I did see a kookaburra and a pair of lyrebirds. Unfortunately, I have no pics of them. But I did take a lot of pics of the scenery. Here are my favourites. Welcome to Danny's Backyard ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() And now the final pic. The monkeys pictured are my sister and parents. My dad's about six foot tall to give you some idea of the size of the trees (only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the trees' heights are actually visible in this picture).

They're the tallest flowering plant in the world ![]() Scary thing is the whole forest was cleared from around 1850-1930 so these trees are only young o.o |

The highest tree of this kind, if I'm not mistaken, was 147 metres high. |
