so, i recently learned that this river where i went fishing for channel catfish is also housing blue catfish. this made me wonder if any of the channel cats i caught in the past could actually be blues. i only have two pics, and they are low quality, but i hope they can help identify them. personally i believe these are channels but i would like to hear some opinion from other people, mainly if they commonly see these species![]()

The top one is definitely a channel, but the bottom one might be a blue, but it looks more like a channel to me. |

Generally Blues have eyes higher on their heads, a deeper fork in their tail, and a (as their name suggests) Bluer coloration.
