Yeah I either like jaguars or some kind of leopard... Actually, since you asked: Favorite Marine Animal: Manta Ray Favorite Reptile: Bearded Dragon (guess you saw that coming) Favorite Ungulate: Kudu (second is Zebra) Favorite Feline: Jaguar or Amur Leopard But I haven't really thought about it.

yeah I don't really think about it much either... I like a lot of animals depending on my mood. I say lion is my fave just like I say green is my fave color and chocolate is my fave icecream. Its a lot of work to get into details and say, "yeah but I like black and white and grey too", or "I love rabbits, but lions are cooler, and domestic cats are just plain awesome". If you know what I mean. And umpa....fine, when I post about you I'll make sure to make it nice and short. Would a sentence do nicely? XD jk |

How are We Doing? Part I I'm probably going to update this blog a lot in the next few days, as there are several things I want to talk to you about guys about. I'll label the next few posts as a series. This will be a growing part mostly for the staff here and for you guys to help us be the best staff possible. I'm gonna try and talk about things like what we do, our own rules, how ya'll can hold us accountable, our goals as staff, and about the rules and how some are different then previous sites, as well as a few other things. Todays post though will be on encouragement- I think its obvious that if you guys didn't like the staff here you wouldn't be members here. As a general knowledge you don't put yourself under someone's authority (in choice), if you don't trust their judgment. So with that being said I like to think of myself, and the other staff members, as elected by you guys to help run a forum that is fun for everyone, that is active, that always has something new to do and talk about. And in my opinion its a real honer. We have sooooo many wonderful members here, people who have been in the community for ages, and people who are just joining but are wonderful contributors. We have amazing designers, and zoo builders and writers and even spammers. Artists and just nice people who invest time to hangout with a lot of people they don't really know. People who have different views on life, on people and on everything. We have some 'popular member' and 'n00bie' members and to be frank it doesn't matter where you fit in, everyone is a valuable member in this forum- and the forum wouldn't be the same with out each of you. So on saying that, we the staff- at least Susan, Danny and myself, realize that we are just like everyother member here. We don't feel the least superior then you guys, nor do we feel that we are smarter, better, and to be honest, more liked then the average person here. The reason we are here is because we love the community and you guys, and because we have time and ideas to keep this place as fresh and fun as possible- but naturally we love hanging out just like any other member in discussions- fun and games. Now you may be asking, what does this have to do with encouragement? Well I'll tell you  Just like anyother human being- I, and the others, love to be encouraged, and to be told good that we're doing good, or that we're appreciated means a lot to us. Remember, we're just volunteers, investing our time so that we can all have a good time. I mean we enjoy staffing- its one of the best things that has ever happened to me- but its easy to be discouraged, get tired- or feel we aren't worthy for this job, and I feel that maybe because we're staff, everyone thinks that someone else has said a nice word to us, or that we get plenty of encouragement and love- when truth is- that if everyone thinks that... well, you get the idea. With that I'm going to conclude this- I want to thank you all for giving us this task and job, I don't think anyone knows how much it means to each of us- and how much it will influence my real life. When I say all this I believe I'm talking to Susan, Danny, Rafael, Imp, Umpa, and Hudson. Thanks a ton guys  With that I ask the question I'll ask after every post in this series. How are we doing? |

You are doing fantastic guys. I think you really succeed on the main goal of your forum. I really like this place. I've never been so active in other ZT forum, and i'm really enjoying the experience. There is a very friendly feeling all around this forum that makes me feel really confortable and let me express myself with freedom. And like i said in some other topic before, one of the things i like the most here is that the staff is really close to the members, so keep up the amazing work! TRT can only keep growing and improving from now on

ZC said it really well, you guys have been doing great and here at TRT is the closest I've ever felt to the community in a really long time, everyone is friendly here, all of you guys make a very relaxed atmosphere and it's great, you guys are friendly and talk to us on the same level. You don't stay in the staff room and only come out to dish out warnings and all that. I really love this website as a whole and the people running it.

I completely agree with zoocrazy and Komori. I think because there is so little to moderate here, as in, all the members are incredibly nice, we don't look at you as authoritative staff. I really feel like you guys are members and friends just like every other, but that doesn't mean that all of your contributions (contests, activities, etc.) to the site go unnoticed. We really appreciate every second of time you take to give us what has turned into a great community.

And now, Poetry Corner, with Sheather One fine day in winter's gloom I joined a forum for Zoo Tycoon. This forum was nice, known as Northern Skies, but I soon realized it was doomed. Inactive it was already by then, the community had already moved. So I took their advice and the next forum was nice, but this one had its own problems too. My friends I'd since met, now they'd all left, so I went after them to a third forum, vibrant and new. With backgrounds of white and a theme nice and light, and sidebars vibrantly blue. With numerous contests and things to do, Wonderful staff, the best we could have, and even our own pointie zoos. This forum was different than any before, it was closer and friendlier too. If you're looking fun, TRT is where you should come - this is the forum for you. This has been, Poetry Corner, with Sheather Everyone here, you have done a wonderful job. The fact that there is even a community for this at all after so long is surprising enough, and you guys have done a really good job keeping the community alive. If not for TRT springing up when it did, myself and likely a lot of others would probably not be active in the community anymore at this point. |

(claps for Sheather) you're right about the staff being like normal members, that was evident when you joined the Marathon aswell, and not in your own team but with other "normal" members, and the fact you were staff didn't make you superior in any way: as a judge, i had way more power

*Snaps after reading the poem* Beautiful Sheather. A grand piece. I'd like to insert my two cents into the topic now... I have joined recently and, frankly, I love it here. I really enjoy posting and having others comment on my zoo and helping others; it gives a nice sense of a second home. There also seems to be so much room for activities here*hint hint wink wink nudge nudge* Contests pointies and fun and games. TRT has truly been my most favorite forum. |

Time for Crooked poetry The fall of NS I have known Gaia too will soon be blown And some said there was no crown For any site from ZT2 sown. Those who said that were so wrong RT was forgotten much too long It makes we want to sing a song Because forever 't'will be strong. There is a board of white and blue Of ashen black, of orange too And we must all thank the ones who Have made all this beauty true. TRT is my favie site now. I love this site. Its odd but I feel like almost every active member here or even new member here is a friend. I mean I love seeing comments and I feel close to even those I never had a pm chat with. The staff feel like regular members. No site had that much of a feel. I mean on other sites it was always a big deal when a staff would comment on your thread and they rarely did. At the time you didn't realize that makes it feel like the staff are better then you. Here its different they often comment. You also get constructive criticism but its delivered well. I love that. I mean often in the past you'd get a few comments from new members who said it was amazing, wether it was amazing or just good. Now here you can the truth delivered in a polite way and actually improve. You also get so many more comments. I mean its not so much a feeling like the staff are members, because that would mean the staff don't get appreciated and neither do the members. Its more like everyone feels like staff. We all feel important because we all are important. We all feel loved and appreciated. Not just the staff. The staff really couldn't be doing a better job. |
