So, anyone can discuss experiences about dogs here So, tell us, do you have dogs? What are your favourite breeds? Do you have good or bad experiences with them? For me, I have one dog, a border collie. Favourite dog breeds are almost all medium-large dog breeds (anything between a Corgi and a Newfoundlander), especially shepherds (Border Collies, German Shepherds and a breed I only recently discovered, the Harzer Fuchs). Me too, unlike cats. But generally I dislike smaller breeds, especially Chihuahuas. I own a dog which is a crossing between a German shepherd and a spaniel. But she is very lazy (when I go jogging with my dad, she runs fir a while, than goes back to the car and waits for us, and has a tendency to fart. |

when i was a kid a huge dog barked at me, and since then i'm afraid of dogs. however my father keeps dogs because he goes hunting, so the contact with the dogs we have/had is helping me getting over this fear. hunting dogs are my favourite breeds, especially setters, pointers, Hannoveraner e Bayerischer. but don't even mention Yagd terriers, those are ratels under disguise ! |

My sister has a dog I like it. Although it eats its own poop. |

Over all, I hate Chihuahuas. They are oversized rats, with the same level of intelligence and sharp teeth I remember my cousin had an 18-year old one which would bark at everyone entering the house.

When I was a baby we had a rescued racing greyhound, but we had to get rid of him because he was aggressive towards me. When I was 3, we got two Pembroke Welsh corgi puppies and have loved corgis ever since. One of the two original puppies died of cancer at seven, but the other is still alive and well. We got another corgi puppy as a companion to her a few years ago. From my experience, corgis are intelligent, high energy dogs and need a lot of attention from their owners. They're very loyal and tolerent as long as you train them correctly. The only thing I dislike about them is that they have a very strong herding instinct and will try and nip at your heels if you run from them.

My dog isn't intelligent. At all. My most common catch when I go fishing, she usually jumps.to eat the worm before I throw the line. But she was always very protective of me and is very aggressive and fearsome when me and my sister are annoyed. |

@Mysty: Ours had that too. It stopped though, maybe because we started to actually herd sheep with her. Also, does any of you experience the different ‘dogmodes‘? Mine has four; walking mode, herding mode, playing/standard mode and inside mode. In the first two she listens extremely well, is energetic and stays focused. She listens way less when she‘s in playing/standard mode, can‘t control her activity that well and when she‘s in inside mode she‘s just a lazy couch potato (which we don‘t allow to be on the couch) |

I have an airedale terrier. He's antisocial with our whole family except my mom. (Unless she's not home, then he bothers me and my dad. He ignores my brother always. XD ) When he's outside he chases the small animals from our yard (so none of the surrounding houses have small animals near them) And loves cheese more than anything. |

We have a golden retriever.. she's really old though, and I have to help her get up each morning and force her to eat and walk. I like most dogs... though I prefer the ones that are larger then a 'microwave oven' (as 20 questions would say), such as retrievers, huskies, german shepherds, and boarder collies. |

Chihuahuas aren't dogs IMO. as i said i'm afraid of dogs, even of some small breeds, but Chihuahuas have no effects on me. but everytime i see an annoying one, my football player instinct tries to come back to life ... |
