Thanks for the release, and the Indominus color changing is looking awesome!
Will it change skin randomly or under certain conditions?
Like I mentioned earlier, it operates via decals, like blinking. Thus, it'll be random. :)

Is it just me or is the Ceratosaurus missing it's skin?
White before placement bug. I don't know why though... Does it have a skin when placed?
nope, it was still white after placement.
Hmm... Try this link
That did not work.
Have you tried shifting around your settings or removing some downloads? It works perfectly fine in my game.
I don't really have that many downloads to remove, Setting my game to Best Performance makes the skin show up, but it makes the game just terrible.
Then that's a problem with your computer, I think. I'm not sure if I could help you with that, sorry. You can customize settings to make just the texture detail maximized, though.

Oh I can already see chameleons and cuttlefish using this soon...maybe with a more transparent thing though.

This is very interesting Tyranachu.

Perhaps you can define a new value like you have the dirty and sick values; and then set the value to 1 in a task in the TSK when it wants to camouflage. In the XML you then just have to code your animals skins like dirty or mating skins, but attaching your new value to it. That way it can change when it wants to, and not at random ;)

But in that way I do have to disappoint you, animals changing colours have been done before through mating skins :P But still, it's good to see you're trying new stuff, that's always something you deserve praise for !

Reading through this thread I was wondering; would it be possible to code the skin change to trigger when the animal enters a certain biome? Or perhaps trigger when the animal is hunting? From what Iben wrote in his post either of those sounds possible - but I'm no coding expert, so what do I know.
Edit: Also, nice Ceratosaurus. It's probably your best work yet.

Thank you very much Iben! Yes, I am aware of the mating skins, but what I was really looking for is a way to make the skin actually make a smooth transition, just like in the movie, and not just pop into place hehe. I figured that the easiest way to do that is through decals.

Is there a way to activate decals just like mating skins? I'd totally try that if it was possible! :D

I AM THE UNSHRINKWRAPPER!

You could link it to a behaviour. For example, when the animal wants privacy it seeks a hiding place and changes colour. That would be stupendous! Or while its hunting another animal.

I suppose you could also animate the material color through the BFMAT file. Unlike animating something in NIF models, this comes with no performance cost beause you don't have to force reload the model every frame. Look at the falling water of the Extinct Animals foodstands - I'm not completely sure if it works for this purpose, because there only the UV coordinates are animated.

That's a great idea, you could make it so if the privacy need starts going up, it will camouflage and satisfy the need.
I don't know how you would code the decals like that, though, only if it were a single skin.

Might I give a few ideas?

First, maybe scaling up the indominus to where the female is 3.3, and the male 2.8, just a idea. The reason I say scale it up is because the vehicles are a little bit big when you place them next to each-other. And the reason I say the male smaller then the female is because the T-Rex female is larger than the male T-Rex.

And another idea is that you could make a Velociraptor sized Indominus, just like what Hoskins was going to make.

Again, just an idea that I thought would be cool.

The "sibling" could have been male. Being smaller it could have been over powered and eaten as clair said.

"What happened to the sibling?"

"She ate it"

I know you were siding with me, but I'm pretty sure all the animals are made to be female. But still thank you. c:
