I have an idea how I can implement this in ZT2.
The ocean variants will be standard. Right before it starts mating, the ocean variant will change into the spawning variant. After the mating the male dies and after the egg laying the female dies.

Are you guys interested in this idea, or do you prefer a version where the spawning variant is just an ordinary model variant ?
That's a very good idea. I like it!

I really like the idea. It adds more reality to the game.

Ok, I'll start working on the coding then.
@Furka, I don't think that's possible, but I'll give it a try ;)

Even if it is possible it would be kind of anoying for the player to have to change the biome if they want their salmons to breed.

They look great Thom :) I've always wanted good salmons for the game!

You did it again, the fishes are looking great.

A question about the salmon: When the babies are hatching, they are in the freshwater-biome, will they stay this way, until they are placed in saltwater? Or will they grow up and start mating all over again?

Thanks everyone!
@Dycki, You can't make the fins more transparent without making the whole model more transparent. You could separate the fins from the body in Blender (and re-attach them to the body like teeth and whiskers are attached), but that's a lot of work :P

I'm finished with the most of the coding. Now I just have to figure out how I can add the biomes as a qualifier in the .tsk :P BTW, thanks for your offer Milchman, I'll keep it in mind. :)

In the meantime I have two new releases for you :)

If I had know that I would have saved it for you xD What went wrong?

BTW, to anyone who's interested in learning how to import (fish) models, I posted two tutorials about it here:

Just spent two hours to realize I was doing the wrong thing, and three more to realize I was missing a program.
And since Chrome won't let me download it, I'm stuck :P so it's better that you worked on it. Thanks for that.
