Hi guys!
Here's a preview of the project I'm currently working on.

As you can see in the video, guests will randomly pick one of the three possible gifts on the stand and walk to the counter to pay for it.
This project is a collaboration with Iben who generously offered me to use his gift shop models.
So far we only have this gift stand ingame, but because it uses a special node set, it will be very easy to create different variants.
Of course we will add more gift stand types and also new counter model :)

Out of everything I've wanted for Zoo Tycoon 2 in all my years, it's this kind of functionality that I've wanted the absolute most. It really brings the zoo to life when the things you build can actually be used by guests. I personally thank you for this and the ticket vendor download.

There'll be no foot-walking! Just air-flying!

Indeed, as Thom has pointed out, the gifts aren't part of the giftstand model but are added through code to the nodeset. This will ensure that if someone remakes the gifts at one point, the giftstand will always show the most up to date gift-models/skins. ;)

It's amazing what you've achieved so far Thom, I'm going to make sure that I finish up the remaining models as soon as possible ! :D

This is really cool!
ALso does this add finances to the zoo budget when guests buy the item?

Yes, the shop vendor acts like the original gift shop building, so you can even select which price the guests have to pay :)

I see I've missed some wonderful downloads! I really love this guest behaviour and the elevators/doors. They make the game a lot more realistic. Thanks a lot for your amazing work!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys! :)
Unfortunately I have no new video or pictures of the gift stand yet, but I have finished the coding that can be used for all shirts, hats and backpacks :D

In the meantime here's a little project I came up with while I was working on my Primate Summer Knockout contest entry. I wanted to have scenery objects with height variation but at the same time I didn't want to fill my game with lots of the same objects with only slight changes in heightoffset.

First I tried coding based on the skytram poles, meaning you could simply drag the object up. I got it working, but somehow the game didn't allow me to rotate the objects before placement :/ It might come in handy some day, but it wasn't really what I was looking for. Then I came up with the current version, which combines coding of various sources and gives you something you've never see before. :D

In the video you can see me editing the height and scale of one of Cats natural poles by pressing E in first person mode. I only use two xmls, one model and two slots in the scenery window. In the xmls you can add as many height or scale variations as you wish.
It's still WIP but when the coding is completely finished I'll post a tutorial explaining how it works :P
